Top 10 Video Game Remasters We Really Want To See Happen

Top 10 Video Game Remasters We Really Want To See Happen

We all have fond memories of the games that we used to play as kids but sometimes when we go back to play them again they just don’t hold up that well. So here’s a list of Top 10 Games that we really need HD Remasters of.

Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs you can play but don’t let that 16bit art style fool you. Originally released in 1995 on the SNES it was received with extremely positive responses. Made by a team of the best RPG makers of that era, the game still holds up really well. Eventhough it has been ported to the PS1, DS and mobile devices I and a lot of fans would love a remake of it in the style of the FF7 remake. If you haven’t played this game already, I highly recommend that you do.

Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3

We all know the whole Konami debacle of how they messed up Metal Gear Solid V and basically got out of the video game industry but maybe, just maybe with the 30th Anniversary of the Metal Gear series coming up could Konami do us this one thing? MGS 1, 2 and 3 are all amazing games with their own uniqueness each and I would absolutely love to play it on the Fox Engine with updated gameplay mechanics that made those games so much fun.  We can just hope for this.

Shenmue 1 and 2

With Shenmue 3 officially in development and fans going absolutely mental I feel like it is about time we get a remake of the games that started the fan following.  The original released in 1999 for the Sega Dreamcast and was super hyped before release and yet still went on to deliver a game that made it one of the best games of its genre. No other game could compare to it because of how robust and open-world the game was. A remake now would help get new fans and get people to experience the amazingness known as Shenmue.

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic 1 and 2

Star Wars is back and so should KOTOR.  Have you wanted to be a Sith Lord or a Jedi Master?  Use Lightsabers and The Force and feel like a badass? This game does exactly that and has really fun gameplay that includes dismemberment and a great story line. There are visual mods for these games because it is still being played a lot but it would be absolutely amazing if they decided to remaster the best Star Wars game. Just imagine playing this in the Frostbite Engine and cutting up fools with a purple lightsaber, mmmhhhhmmmm.

Silent Hills 2

Hey, another title we might not get because Konami. Why add it to this list then? Well dear reader, with the increase of jump-scare horror games and the general rise of horror games I can only think of the game that actually did it in a way that was different yet outstanding. Silent Hills 2 is now revered as one of the best horror games that you can play and there’s a reason for that. It dealt with a lot of themes, didn’t use cheap jumpscares to scare the player and utilized psychological horror phenomenal. If they were to remaster or remake this game, we might just forgive them for PT.

Dark Souls 1 and Demon Souls

Now you might say those are 2 different games, and yes they are but, they are still part of the Souls series.  Demon Souls was a PS exclusive and Dark Souls 1 runs worse than the weird shit in the depth of Blighttown. A remaster of those 2 games for all platforms would be great, especially getting native 60fps so that we can actually play the game and not watch a slideshow like in some parts of Dark Souls 1. Plus, we need more Souls games in our lives because life in itself is just too easy. Fingers crossed and hopping the Demon Souls remaster news is true so that we can torture ourselves more.

Fallout: New Vegas

The best Fallout game that you can play. Period. It took what Fallout 3 had and just improved on it to give one of the most fun RPGs of this era. With so many things to do, so many various skills and perks and questlines this game has me coming back for more after I’m done with a playthrough. Let’s not forget the mods that add a ton of great extra content and fixes. Here’s hoping we get a remaster of this when they move away from the Creation Engine and move onto something better.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Before we had Assassins’ Creed we had this fantastic series, and in this fantastic was a game that still is an absolutely amazing game. Warrior Within is just sooo much fun to play and not only that, the story actually is pretty damn good. With the advancements that Ubisoft has made with the AC series in terms of graphical fidelity and gameplay and, with the next Assassin’s Creed being set in Ancient Egypt why not give us a remaster Ubisoft?

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

All I need to say for this is “Rockstar pls, take my money”.  This game is still being played to this day with its huge number of mods and multiplayer. The multiplayer aspect of this game is very active as I still play on a server for this and eventhough the playerbase has declined, there are still new players coming in. We got GTA: V set in San Andreas, we got the assets, so Rockstar how about you make this remaster and take all our money?

Mass Effect Trilogy

A series that took a part of my soul when I played through it.  Characters that you bond with,  stories that make you cry and an experience that you’ll never forget.  Sure the ending might be the best but the journey is absolutely the best that you can get. This series will always be special for me and I wish to see it remade in the new engine so I can relive one of my favourite series of all times.
