Far Cry 6 – Review (SPOILER FREE)

OUR SCORE – 9/10 Far Cry is perhaps one of the few video game franchises that need no introduction. Ubisoft’s blockbuster open-world FPS has been one of the most popular titles for two decades. And the latest entry, Far Cry 6, cements a solid entry into a series we’ve all come to love. Unlike the grasslands of the US, Far Cry 6 takes place in the tropical islands of Yara, filled with lush vegetation and gorgeous coastlines. Players are put in the shoes of Dani Rojas, an ex-military man or woman, depending on your choice of character. The country has been taken over by a democratically elected leader turned dictator – Anton Castillo. Castillo is played by none other than the famous Giancarlo Esposito, who you might know from the TV show Breaking Bad. A revolution is ...

Ubisoft at E3 2019

Roller Champions A blend of roller skating, American football and basketball, this is a skill based team PvP game. It has players rolling around in an oval arena with three players on each team. The stadiums are enclosed with it actually being sort of doughnut shaped but oval. The goals are circular vertical rings stuck on the walls of the arena. The visuals are flush with neon colors and bright aesthetics. It’ll also have tackle mechanics and you can steal balls from the opponents. Different arenas will be available to play in which range from a beach to a metropolis at night. Stated as being as fun to watch as it is to play, Ubisoft probably aims to pitch this game as the next popular Esports title.  Gods and Monsters This new title is brought by the team behind Assassin’s Creed Od...

Watch Dogs Legion at E3

The third iteration in the open-world action adventure series is set in a futuristic London where disorder is ironically the order of the day and chaos runs wild. The government has “fucked off” and extremists have taken over. The UK has progressed into a surveillance state with drones around every corner tracking your every move. Organised crime has carved up the boroughs of London into their territories. In the face of this authoritarian regime and the cartels, an underground resistance has grown organically. This resistance which is called DedSec has their own in-house AI, Bagley which interacts with the player regularly. He offers up curt witticisms and talks to the player with that dry British humor. This game is built on a gameplay mechanic that will enable the player to control any ...

‘Games As A Service’- A Big Problem For Gamers

Buy Once, Pay for Ever. That’s ‘Games as a Service’ Games as a service (abbreviated GaaS) simply means paying a monthly subscription fee to avail games or game related content on a regular base. Games as a service rob the title of games as a product and instead labels it as a service. For example, purchasing a movie on a disc is a product for which you only pay once but paying Netflix or Hulu on a monthly to watch the same movie is a service. But, paying Netflix or Hulu for their monthly services makes sense, but it does not make much sense when it comes to video games. In games as a service, you, as a player, purchase the original game for an approximate price tag of $60 and pay a monthly subscription fee to the developers to the game to continue playing the game. Games as a service is a ...
