What To Expect at E3 2017: Bethesda

What To Expect at E3 2017: Bethesda

Next up, Bethesda. A lot of rumours flying around with a new IP and VR versions of games. So let’s have a look at what we can expect from Bethesda at E3.

Starfield

This is what has people most excited. A brand new IP from Bethesda that takes place in Space! From the leaks that may or may not be true, this game is supposed to be a part of the Bethesda Universe where Fallout is the beginning and Elder Scrolls the far future with this being in-between in the time period.  With planet’s developed by developers and procedurally generated worlds as well, we wonder if this game will by the ultimate hype and then fail miserably. But from what we’ve read till now it seems to be a competitor for the Mass Effect series and I’m really excited to know about this new IP.

Fallout 4 VR

Bethesda had announced Fallout 4 VR along with Doom VR last E3. Bethesda’s Pete Hines has been hyping up Fallout 4 VR as the best thing you can play in VR with it being really realistic.  He stated that it is the craziest thing we will see so Pete, I really hope this is as good as you’ve made it to be.

Doom VR

Doom VR’s demo at E3 2016 had a lot of heads turning because people were saying it was actually better than Fallout 4 VR. However the demo had you just stand in place while a horde would come at you and you would shoot your way to victory. What I want to see next is if they have found a way of getting the player to traverse the levels because after all, Doom is a fast paced shooting game where you never stand still.

Wolfenstein: New Colossus

Teased last E3 with a starred out release date, Wolfenstein: New Colossus is the sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order, a game that took the gameplay back to its roots with a health bar, solid shooting mechanics, a great story and fun little nods and cameos to the past games. An official reveal with some gameplay and a release date is something we all are hoping for from Bethesda.

Quake Champions

With the old-school shooters making a return and even Unreal Tournament in it’s Alpha, it’s time Arena Based shooters came back. We know a lot about this game already, however it’s still in its Beta and we haven’t had a chance to really play it even though the codes for the Closed beta are available. I’m expecting them to show more characters, arenas and hopefully launching the closed beta so we can finally play some Quake.

The Evil Within 2

The Evil Within wasn’t the best horror games that came out in 2014 and was had a mixed response.  A couple of months back a user on Neogaf found a job listing for Pyscho Break 2 which is the Japanese title for The Evil Within and even though it had a mixed response it still pretty well for a game of its genre.  Tango had also previously stated that they wanted The Evil Within to be a series and not a singular game, I feel like we can expect an announcement for the sequel at E3 this year.

Skyrim for Nintendo Switch

Last E3 Bethesda also announced Skyrim for the Switch. Now that the Switch is out and we’ve seen what it’s capable of I’m excited to see how Skyrim will turn out for this console. Of course it won’t be on par with the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game in terms of graphics but the prospect of playing Skyrim wherever you are is so fantastic. First, we spent hours playing it in our rooms and houses, and now we’ll be able to play to play it outside in public or while on the go. I’m also curious to see if there’s going to be mod support for this game as there is on the PS4 and XB1 so that Macho Man Randy Savage and Thomas the Dank/Tank Engine make their return.

Elder Scrolls Online

Yes, this exists and let me tell you that it’s pretty great. With the recent release of the Morrowind DLC for this game that adds a lot of additional content and the island of Vvardenfell, Bethesda might showcase this game to market it and let people know that this game is going pretty strong and is continually being updated. Maybe they might tease the next Elder Scrolls game through this or maybe a future Skyrim DLC.

Bethesda has a pretty interesting line-up especially with the VR games and hopefully, a new IP. Would game do you want to see from bethesda at E3 and what are your E3 expectations this year? Let us know by commenting. Also check out Sony at E3 and Ubisoft at E3 while you’re at it.
