The Last of Us Series Gets HBO Greenlight
HBO has given a series order to the drama The Last of Us, it was announced today by Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming. Craig Mazin (HBO’s “Chernobyl”), Neil Druckmann (“The Last of Us” and “Uncharted” video game franchises), and Carolyn Strauss (HBO’s “Chernobyl” and “Game of Thrones”) are executive producers along with Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. Written by Mazin and Druckmann, the series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television. Just a couple of days ago Sony announced The Last of Us: Game of the Year Edition for PlayStation 3, which the company describes as the “ultimate version” of Naughty Dog’s 2013 game. The bundle is set to come out in Europe on the 11th of November, though there is no news on plans for the North America Launch. Adding to the main game, The Last of Us Game of the Year Edition is going to feature the single-player DLC expansion Left Behind, as well as the Abandoned Territories and Reclaimed Territories multiplayer map packs. Naughty Dog announced today that it is working on two new maps for the Factions multiplayer mode in The Last of Us on both PS3 and PS4.
