Far Cry 5 ‘Recreating Montana’ Trailer

Far Cry is as much about capturing natural beauty as it is about explosive mayhem, and with Far Cry 5, the bar for re-creating the wilderness is especially high. Unlike the fictional Kyrat or Rook Islands, Montana’s forests, farmlands, and highways will feel familiar to a lot of players – and that means the developers needed to accurately capture every detail, from the wildlife to the logos on roadside shops to the bark on trees, to make Hope County feel like a convincing place. “We needed to change the way we prepared ourselves,” says Isaac Papismado, graphic assistant on Far Cry 5. “In the past, we used the internet, we used a lot of secondary sources, books, things like that. Whereas now, we really want to go onsite with a team with cameras, and get as much as we can.” That meant taking...

Ubisoft Says Far Cry 5 Won’t Have Towers Or Mini-Map, And Here’s Why

Far Cry 5 is on the horizon and we are trying to grab any new piece of information that we can get about the game. With this new game in Far Cry franchise Ubisoft is trying to recapture the excellence that they did with Far Cry 3, there are many changes being made in the game. And I think this game is going to be the the most unique Far Cry game in the franchise. In a recent interview with the lead writer Drew Holmes, he stated- “We really wanted to focus on exploration with a sense of, ‘I’m not sure what to do or where to go’. The removal of the mini map was so you’re not staring at a little corner of your screen saying, ‘what’s new in the world?’ You’ve got to actually pay attention to the world and the art side is doing a good job of making sure there are good landmarks to orient yourse...

E3 2017 Highlights: Ubisoft Press Conference

After for some reason showcasing Assassin’s Creed Origins during Microsoft’s Press Conference I wasn’t sure what Ubisoft was going to have to actually showcase that would hype people up or make the crowd go wild. I don’t think that would’ve happened either way but we did get a new IP that’s a full blown Pirates game so that’s cool. Anyway, here’s the highlights from Ubisoft’s Press Conference which did NOT include Aisha Tyler. Beyond Good and Evil 2 15 years have passed and they finally announced this game. And the internet collectively lost their shit. After looking forward to a game for so long to finally seek the answers of the cliffhanger ending of the first game, they go ahead and give us a prequel. But hey, a new Beyond Good and E...

Assassins’ Creed Origins Assassins’ Creed Origin or whatever might be the final name, is the series’ return after being on hiatus for a year following the release of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Ubisoft explained that they were taking a year off to iron out issues and deliver a more complete and better game to the fans. The main Assassins’ Creed series has until now always traveled to the future in every iteration but Origins takes it back to Ancient Egypt,...

Far Cry 5 To Be Set In The Wild Wild West? (RUMOUR)

A little over a week ago, a local American newspaper by the name of Great Falls Tribune reported that a film crew was shooting a live action trailer in Montana for a game set in the West. At first, it was assumed that the game was Red Dead Redemption 2, even though live-action trailers aren’t Rockstar’s MO. Some fans did quite a bit of digging, and found out that the Producer involved in the trailer doesn’t work for Rockstar but Ubisoft. The newspaper also reported that producer Jeff Guillot said, “This is a sequel to an existing global franchise”, meaning that the game is not a new series. While both Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry could be possible candidates to receive a new game, the latest rumours point to the next Assassin’s Creed game being set...

Top 10 Video Games We Probably Won’t See At E3 2017

Now we’ve discussed the games that we really want to see this year at E3 2017, and we tried to keep our expectations tempered. But if we were to let our wishful thinking free, then we would also want to see the following games, but probably won’t. So here are the top 10 video games we probably won’t see at E3 2017. Elder Scrolls 6 With the massive success that Skyrim was, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to think that Bethesda will put out another one soon. However, with how strongly they are supporting Elder Scrolls Online, and adding huge expansions regularly, it’s hard to imagine them cannibalizing their own game. Though, if they do decide to put out a new Elder Scrolls game, I’d love to see Valenwood. Far Cry 5 Ubisoft has its hands full these days. Wh...
