Top Five Facts You Probably Didn’t Know About Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5 is the next big sequel in the Far Cry series and we couldn’t be more excited to get our hands on it. Ubisoft has been constantly giving off new information about the game, and it’s scheduled to release in 18 February 2018. With all the information out there about the game, we decided to pick out some of the things that have been looked over. So here are the top five facts you probably didn’t know about Far Cry 5.

Character Customization

You play as a junior Police officer in Hope County, Montana. For the first time in a Far Cry game, you will be able to fully customize your character, including choosing the gender, skin tone and more. I really hope the character customization here goes deeper than the one in Wildlands and The Division.

Inspired By Political Events

This is probably the most interesting thing for me about Far Cry 5. The game and its setting in Montana have been inspired by real life political events across the globe and also in America.  The game’s creative director Dan Hay said that one of the main inspirations for the game was the ‘2016 occupation of the Masher National Wildlife Refuge, in which armed militants took residence in the Oregon-based National Park for 40 days.’

Biggest Far Cry Game Yet, You Can Fly Planes

Ubisoft has claimed that this will the biggest Far Cry game they have ever made, and the map is so big that they decided to add planes to the roster of vehicles you can use. The planes can also be customized, you can add weapons, and engage in dogfights.

Dynamic AI

In Far Cry the AI is said to be dynamic and adapts to the way you behave. According to Ubisoft, “Far Cry 5’s dynamic A.I. tracks the effect you’re having in the game, and alters the enemy’s strategy against you.” This sounds similar to how the AI functioned in Metal Gear Solid V, and if it is anything like that, I am really excited.

Full Campaign Co-op Multiplayer

This time around, Far Cry will be fully playable from start to finish in co-op. It has not been made clear as to how many can play together through the main story, but so far 2 player campaign co-op has been confirmed.
