While big publishers would like you to believe that single player games are dead or dying, the truth is in fact the opposite. There are tons of great single player games released in the last year and even more upcoming in 2018. Sure, some of them have multiplayer elements to them, but these games still offer a very robust single player experience. So here are the top 20 best upcoming single player games 2018. Ni No Kuni 2 Join the young king Evan as he sets out on an epic quest to found a new kingdom and, with the help of some new friends, unite his world, saving its people from a terrible evil. Monster Hunter World Embark on a perilous hunting expedition into a newly discovered continent known only as ‘The New World’ and prowl its uncharted wilds in search of the land’s most ferocious bea...
2017 saw abundant of PS4 exclusives. In fact, the quality exclusives were the fact that PS4 dominated in the console market. Sony hopes to continue the trend with these upcoming PS4 exclusives. Days Gone When Days Gone was first revealed at E3 2016, it surprised everyone with hordes of zombies jumping on the player. It has been much awaited since then and it’ll be finally out in 2018. God Of War When there were no more Greek gods to kill, Kratos changed his mythology from Greek to Norse, so do expect an encounter with Thor, the god of lightning or Odin, the all father. The reboot features RPG mechanics such as discovery and levelling up among its numerous other changes. Ghost of Tsushima Ghost of Tsushima puts you in the shoes of a feudal Japanese Samurai in 1274. The peace has been...
At the E3 2017 Media Showcased a new gameplay demo for Days Gone that focused on open-world dynamic events. Behind closed doors, we got to see an alternate-path of the demo, changing up the weather, time-of-day, and play style. Our goal for this second demo was to show that changing something like the weather was more than cosmetic — it could significantly impact the experience. After the dust from E3 settled, I sat down with Sam Witwer — who plays Deacon St. John — to watch the Alternate-Path Gameplay Demo and talk about some of the things we’re trying to do in Days Gone. Here are some of the topics we covered: • Weather and time-of-day: Snow will impact your ability to ride the Drifter Bike, cold makes Freakers stronger; rain can dampen sound, but brings more Freakers out during the day;...
Now that all the press conferences are over and most of the announcements and showcasing is done, let’s take a look at games that I found were the best at E3 2017, a kind of mediocre one all things considered. Battlefront 2 EA seems to have learned from their mistakes from Battlefront. They’ve added a single player story mode, soldier classes, and all eras are now playable. They’ve also stated that there will be now Season Pass as all the DLC for this game will be free. Beyond Good and Evil 2 When the director of the game comes on stage and is almost in tears, you know how much it means to him. The cult classic is finally getting a 2nd game but it’s actually a prequel. However that does not matter and people are hype none the less. Shadow of the Colossus Now, you m...
The Press Conference I was most looking forward to personally and I was not disappointed. With Spider-Man, Days Gone, God of War and some interesting surprises you might say it made up for the lack of The Last of Us 2. Here are the highlights of the conference with some great games to look forward top. Days Gone We finally got an extended look at Days Gone and it looks like a lot fun. Riding your bike around, using a sort of detective vision, setting up traps, using the horde to your advantage and also fighting a BEAR ZOMBIE. God of War Kratos is back and he is still an absolute badass. We’re given a little more information about the story of the game and a glimpse at the combat which seems to be improved but still is similar to the core combat mechanics. The game visually looks godl...
Moving on with this little mini-series we have Sony. Now Sony has a lot of games that they can showcase at E3, a lot of them that look absolutely fantastic. But not only that, Sony is a bit of a wildcard when it comes to E3 conferences as they have a lot of surprises up their sleeve, like Shenmue 3 last year. So let’s start off with probably the most anticipated PS Exclusive The Last Of Us Part II The Last Of Us was and still is one of the best PS Exclusives that you can play out there. A perfect example of a cinematic game that succeeds as also a zombie game with a fantastic story and beautiful character development. Fans have been wanting more of it and when it was announced people were losing their minds and the hype for this is at the maximum. We all are expecting something more...
The year 2016, however good or bad it may have been, is over now, and with its end we turn over a new leaf. Or we think we’ll do anyway (New Year’s resolutions are so overrated). We saw quite a lot of games last year, some amazing and some downright pathetic. We also caught a glimpse of major titles that are scheduled for release this year. Here’s our list of the most anticipated games that are supposedly releasing in 2017. All aboard the hype train! Mass Effect: Andromeda Platforms: Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Bioware is bringing its epic space franchise back with a trip to the Andromeda Galaxy. It will be the first game in Mass Effect series to have an open world, moving away from the story of the original trilogy. Life in the Milky Way galaxy is in turmoil,...
We may have been a little late in jumping on the E3 bandwagon, but here we are with a list of our favourite titles from this year’s conference. Here are the titles: FIFA ’17 As beautiful as ever, this installment of FIFA has been developed on the Frostbite Engine, the same engine used to develop Battlefield 1. Moreover, it now adds a story mode, where you follow the life of Alex Hunter, both on and off-field. We can’t wait to check out this whole new dimension brought to our favourite football title. Horizon: Zero Dawn Not Horizon: Breaking Dawn, as our dear Joash put it. Turns out he’s a huge Twilight fan. Who knew? Anyway, Zero Dawn takes you to a 1000 years into the future where nature has claimed back the Earth, with remnants of the now past modern...
Sony’s showcase at E3 2016 was a huge success, and nothing short of a spectacle. And how could it be? With a live orchestra, gorgeous games and huge titles, it was everything we expected it to be, and more. But there’s one small thing that seems to have slipped most people’s attention. Apart from Horizon: Zero Dawn, most the games that Sony announced are still “in development for PS4”. The footage from God of War is supposed to be an early first glimpse and no comments have yet been made regarding the release date for God of War. Similarly, Death Stranding, the new game from our beloved Hideo Kojima, is TBA regarding release. The same goes for Days Gone. Sony simply went ahead and gave us brief glimpses of it’s projects lined up for years down the line. Microsoft could’ve had t...
