Let’s face it, EA’s actions this year have been nothing but one disappointment after another for gamers everyhwere. From shutting down great studios to implementing highly questionable mechanics in their games, they have done everything to ensure they become one of the most hated companies in the gaming industry. In fact, their response to the Star Wars Battlefront II loot box debacle is the most downvoted post on Reddit! What makes it worse it that once upon a time, in a galaxy not so far away, some of the best titles to come out were published under the banner of EA. And they seem have thrown all of it away, just for one thing – profits. It seems like EA plans to stop at nothing when it comes to sucking the wallets of their customers. So much so, that they’ve actu...
Mass Effect was a great franchise with a memorable cast of characters and an impactful gameplay. A great franchise; up until Mass Effect Andromeda, a great franchise. Andromeda messed up with the franchise, partly due to ugly and unprofessional animation, memorable characters and partly due to internal business strategies. The demise of Mass Effect can be briefly divided into two parts and I shall go over all of this one by one. An experienced Studio and Team: Andromeda was a great game if compared to itself, but when compared to its history and the modern rival titles, it wasn’t up to the mark. The main reason behind this was that Bioware Montreal, the studio behind Andromeda, was a support studio that handled DLC for previous Mass Effects. They couldn’t deliver up to the hype...
Steven Gilmour, the lead animator for Bioware’s upcoming major project, Anthem, has left the studio, according to his Linkedin profile. Gilmour worked with Bioware for seventeen years, being involved in several big titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect series, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Considering Anthem is still over a year from its release, it’s possible that the development of the game may not be hindered to a huge extent. However, it is certain that both the title and the studio have lost one of their vital members. No release date has been announced yet for Anthem, though a 2018 launch for the Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is expected. While playing Destiny 2 on our livestreams recently, I realized that many from our Indian audience had no idea about Bungie, and their legacy. As the conversation went on, I learnt that many gamers in India do not know too much about some of the biggest game developers, and had not even heard of the smaller ones. So we decided to put together a list of game developers and publishers that we feel that most gamers should know about. Starting off, we’ll be looking at some of the biggest names in the gaming industry, and then head on to the smaller studios. Also, we will have Indian game developers added to the list in upcoming parts. Ubisoft Known For: Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Prince Of Persia, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six Currently Working On: Assassin’s Creed:...
Bioware released a new update for Mass Effect Andromeda. The update consists of- Veteran ranks of characters will only drop after all characters of that rarity have been unlocked to rank 10. Fixed issue where Bulwark, Siphon, and Concussive variants of pistols and sniper rifles would prime enemies too slowly when using special ammo. Fixed issue that caused sc...
The general manager of BioWare ‘Aaryn Flynn’ has departed after 17 years and ‘Casey Hudson’ would be taking over after 3 years of leaving BioWare. Departing message from Aaryn- Thank You For Everything After 17 years with BioWare, today I announced that I’ll be leaving the studio at the end of July, and that Casey Hudson is returning to Edmonton to take on the role of General Manager for BioWare. I joined BioWare in Edmonton right out of University. I was privileged to get a chance to join a group of people working on the coolest, most creative things I could imagine. Growing up at BioWare, the events in my life are intimately intertwined with events at the studio. I got married just after we finished Neverwinter Nights. My first son was born while we were wrapping ...
Recently, Bioware announced through a tweet that Mass Effect Andromeda would be getting a free demo and it will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, they also linked a video to their tweet. Mass Effect Andromeda released earlier this year, it received mixed review and the game was said to be unfinished and glitchy. Which made a hot topic for memes. Fight for a new home in a dangerous galaxy. The Mass Effect: Andromeda Trial is now available on all platforms! pic.twitter.com/t4r2kvyenc — Mass Effect (@masseffect) July 13, 2017 By releasing this demo it seems that bioware is trying to attract more people towards their game, recently Bioware also released a new patch for the game which removed denuvo from their game. It looks like Bioware has abandoned their game all together. Regi...
Bioware has removed the Denuvo anti tamper technology from it’s recently released game Mass Effect Andromeda. They did this with a new update 1.09. The patch fixed various single player bugs, and added new multiplayer content and features and also apparently removed Denuvo from the game. [interaction id=”596732935cc7ece51b3602e0″] It isn’t clear if this was intentional or not as there was no information about it in the official patch notes. Oddly enough, in a previous update of Mass Effect Andromeda(1.05) a newer version of Denuvo was included. Although the game has been cracked within 2 months of its release. Some of the other games have had their Denuvo removed by their respective developer are Hitman, Doom, Inside etc. They might be trying to redeem themselves by...
I know I wasn’t the only one blown away by how amazing Anthem’s trailer looked the Microsoft Press Conference during E3 2017. Running on the Xbox One X, the game looked visually stunning and the gameplay seemed really tight and snappy. The third person shooting, abilities, and the traversal gave off the sense that this might be the game that can give Destiny some tough competition. And with Bioware’s storytelling prowess, Anthem might actually deliver on Destiny’s original promise. [interaction id=”59632fb1f7ddd65e0bce0ed6″] However, the game looks poised for an imminent downgrade. Even with Bioware’s experience with the Frostbite engine, the trailer looked heavily directed and tailored to show the game at its best. While I do want to be hopeful th...
Anthem is the upcoming action RPG/Third Person Shooter game from Bioware, and it is aimed at the Destiny and Division crowd. So when a new game such as this is announced, it’s instantly surrounded by hype, and with such hype disappointment tends to follow. Add to the fact that the guys who made the original Mass Effect and good old RPGs of old are at the helms of the project, even a cynic such as me can’t help but be caught up in the hype. [interaction id=”595e19adf2d4938713c394f8″] Anthem is the game which is going to compete with games like Destiny and Division. Both of the games had immense hype surrounding them when they were announced, but the hype died down after release, and not because they were bad games, it was because expectations were so high, that it wa...
It seems like the console wars are on again and any misstep would cost a lot. Recently both Xbox and PlayStation had hosted a video of Anthem which is Bioware’s new IP on their YouTube channel. But Sony immediately removed the video from their channel, later it was found that they had used doctored footage from Xbox One X and changed the Xbox buttons prompts to PlayStation button prompts. Due to this mishap the marketing manager of Xbox, Aaron Greenberg, has tweeted- Oops! ? https://t.co/RM89njbD8M — ✖️Aaron Greenberg✖️ (@aarongreenberg) July 3, 2017 The Marketing Manager is having fun with this story but on the other side there was no comment from Sony’s side, but it is clear that they might not be having fun with the story. This footage was shown by Xbox at E3 to show ...
