Call Of Duty’s Microtransations are Just As Bad, But Activision Seems To Be Getting Away With It

It has been months since EA’s Battlefront 2 released and it’s still being bashed about the countless microtransactions. It is only right to since they made the microtransactions an integral feature rather than an add-on. On the other hand, there is Call of Duty World War 2, which also uses microtransactions. Although Call of Duty World War 2 wasn’t very well received by critics, it was cherished by players who were tired of the franchise’s repetitiveness. The game gives you 100 COD points as Payroll and players can earn more through various actions in game. However, players may also buy more COD points using real currency and I noted that 200 points could be purchased for $1.99. So why isn’t it criticized as Battlefront 2 was? The bold and brief answer to this question ar...

Video Games And Tax Evasion: The Rabbit-Duck Conundrum

Ever wondered if your favourite video company has ever tried to evade taxes? Well, if it’s a big corporation, there’s a good chance it has. A Dutch journalist called Jesse Frederik has written an incredible piece about how American companies use foreign countries to avoid paying taxes, and how the Netherlands has become a popular tax haven for these companies. Video game makers, as it turns out, are no different. Take Activision Blizzard for example, as Jesse mentions it in his article. It is a titan of the video game industry, known for bestselling franchises like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. And as one would think, these games are technically made in America as the company that makes these games is located in America. Here’s the kicker, though. On paper, these ga...

Next Call Of Duty Game Will Return To Modern Warfare (RUMOR)

Call of Duty World War II is still quite a while away from release but we may already have a hint as to what or more appropriately when the next Call of Duty game is going to be set in. Call of Duty games have a cycle where one year it is Sledgehammer while the next it is Treyarch Studios. Well, after WWII it is Treyarch’s turn and very recently they posted a listing for a System Designer on their website which hints towards a modern day game. The listing specifically calls for someone who has “deep knowledge base of firearms and modern military technology,”. If this is true, this would be the first time since 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 that a Call of Duty game will be set during a modern day setting. Every Call of Duty since that has been set either in the future or past with the...

There’s No Health Regen In Call Of Duty: WW2, Every Bullet Counts

Activision and Sledgehammer revealed some details about the upcoming Call of Duty: WWII, including the release date and private amongst other things. Now, new details have come to light regarding the game’s single-player campaign. According to Polygon, COD: WW2 will bid goodbye to the health regeneration system, something that has been a vital mechanic of the series for more than a decade. Speaking to the site, Sledgehammer Games’ co-founder Glen Schofield said,” “You have to worry about every bullet. You’re not the superhero. You can’t just stand there taking seven bullets, ducking, shooting again. It’s refreshing for us to deal with recruits who aren’t Tier One warriors, to show that vulnerability. They’re naive. It’s been a rea...

Call Of Duty 2017 Might Be Set In Vietnam

If rumors are true, then Activision might just be listening to it’s fan base who want the series to go back to it’s roots, instead of taking ludicrous steps into the future. The next call of duty game, which is set for November 2017 (based on their annual cycles), will be developed by Sledgehammer studios, and takes gamers to the jungles of Vietnam. This wouldn’t bee too surprising as they had already been working on a similar game called Fog Of War. It’s interesting too see that Activision might be willing to go all the way out to step away form the futuristic setting, and even modern setting and go back to the Vietnam conflict. It’s still to been seen how much of this will be a true return to form to classic Call of duty games, or if it’s simply a resk...

You Might Need Infinite Warfare Disc To Play MW Remastered

Well, looks like Activision has no faith in Infinite Warfare at all, as indicated by a possible key detail about how users will get to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. The official website for Modern Warfare Remastered has been updated with text that says “Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered)”, suggesting that you may need the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare disc in order to play Modern Warfare Remastered. The game is supposed to be a digital-only title, which seems to be available only through the premium editions of Infinite Warfare.  Though the reasons are not yet specified, it may be to prevent people from selling their copies of Infinite Warfare and simply keep on playing MW Remastered ...

Relive The Memories With COD: MW Remastered Launch Trailer

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare released back in 2007, it became an instant favourite. The genre-defining multiplayer is still what makes it probably the go-to Call of Duty title when it comes to multiplayer. And players will indeed be able to live these moments again once the game releases on 4th November. Activision has released the launch trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, and it brings it all back.
