E3 2017 Highlights: Nintendo Press Conference

E3 2017 Highlights: Nintendo Press Conference

The final press conference of E3 was arguably one of the best showings according to a lot of people, stating that Nintendo won E3 this year. Nintendo showed off games that they had announced while also announcing and teasing sequels.  So let’s get started with the highlights.

Super Mario Odyssey

SUPA MARIO IS BACK BABY! This game trailer had sooo much in such little time that I don’t even know where to begin. Mario can now possess people with his hat, such a huge variety of levels, exploring NYC while riding on a scooter or becoming a taxi, Bowser about to marry Peach, and what seems to be a Jazz soundtrack. Just like they did with Zelda, this might be it for Mario. It just looks like tons of fun. This game comes out on 17th October and I am certainly looking forward to it.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

I haven’t played Xenoblade Chronicles but it was one of the best JRPGS to have come out in recent years and now I have a great excuse to go back and play it. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has these massive landscapes and awesome swords and what seems to be an interesting story.  It has a release of holiday 2017.

Kirby for Switch

Kirby is what we all wish we could do by eating away our problems quite literally. The added bonus of that being that we gain the powers of those we devoured. Kirby might look cute but don’t let that fool you because Kirby is an absolute monster.  The game looks quite good and has the core “Kirby” gameplay mechanics which even though we’ve seen countless times before could make this a fun game once we see more of it.

Pokémon RPG For Switch

We finally have confirmation that a Core Pokémon RPG is in the works for the Switch that is being developed by Game Freak but it’s almost a full year away. This is the first time the game will be on a home console in 21 years and it has almost everyone who cares Pokémon excited. The hype for this is real.

Metroid Prime 4

Just an announcement trailer for Metroid Prime 4, a game many people thought wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. This teaser just states that it is not in development and that is all that was need to rustle people’s jimmies.

Yoshi for Switch

A cute Yoshi platforming game that adds a new spin to it with the ability of viewing levels from the other side. It has a nice little miniature diorama art style going and also has 2 player co-op from what it looked like.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass

If you managed to do everything in the base game or just want more of this beauty of a game fret not. Nintendo announced the expansion pack that features 2 DLCs, the first being Trials of the Sword which seems to be a variety challenge maps along with Master Mode, Hero’s Path, Travel Medallion, Korok Mask and eight new armors. Master Trials – DLC Pack 1 will be available June 30, 2017. The 2nd DLC called The Champions’ Ballad seems to be Story DLC that is set at least 100 years in the past. No release date for this as of now.

Rocket League for Switch

One of the most fun games to play with your friends is now coming to Switch in Holiday 2017 with Cross-Play! It will also feature exclusive Battle Cars and exclusive Customisable items.

Metroid: Samus Returns

Metroid: Samus Returns is a side-scrolling reimagination of Metroid II that is coming out for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s got a release date of 15th September and it looks like a really good side-scrolling shooter.

Fire Emblem Warriors

Fire Emblem got a story trailer that gives us a bit of an insight into the events of the game. It looks pretty cool and fans were quite pleased with it. Also, the final boss is an evil dragon so that’s cool.

That wrap’s up Nintendo’s Press Conference for E3 and all of the E3 press conference coverage. Let us know what you thought about this Press Conference and what you look forward to. Stay tuned for news that will be presented during E3 Coliseum.
