With the astounding success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the emergence of more obscure and lesser known characters, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is a game that really capitalizes on this. With the tried and tested LEGO video game formula, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 adds a plethora of new characters, locations and fantastic interaction between characters to continue the story of it’s own LEGO universe where humour and absurdity go hand in hand. A sequel to the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game that released in 2013, this new game really builds on that while providing an extremely fun experience that doesn’t strive too far from the LEGO games formula while adding its own touch to it. The game takes place after the events of the previous game where the entire cast of heroes from...
Aegis Defenders is a Metroidvania-style action-platformer truly unlike any other game you’ve ever played. If you know me, you know my game never stops. Whether I’m at home or on the road, I’m always playing on my PS4, which is why I’m excited to announce my official collaboration between Nike Basketball and PlayStation with the PG-2 “PlayStation” colorway. Just like basketball, I’ve had a knack for video games since I was a kid. When I was 8 or 9, I used to amaze my uncle and all his friends by consistently beating them in all the sports games we’d play. And if I saw something cool while I was playing, I’d go outside and try it out on the court or the field. So in a way, sports and video games were always feeding off one another to me. This collaboration has been a long time coming. Ask me what my favorite PlayStation memory is and I’ll tell you it’s when my dad got me a PS2 for Christmas. I’d...

The new year is here, and while gaming in 2018 doesn’t start with a big bang like last year, it doesn’t mean we don’t have any good stuff coming up. Most of the games coming out in January 2018 are on the consoles, so PC fans will have to wait a little bit longer before they get their hands on something big. Here are the games you can look forward to this month: 1. Street Fighter V Arcade Edition Release Date: 16th January Platform: PC and PlayStation 4 3To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Street Fighter, you can enjoy the story paths of 6 SF games. There’s an ending comic panel for each character in each path. Of course, you can turn on Fight Request while taking on Arcade Mode as well! 2. Gintama Rumble Release Date: 18th January Platform: PlayStation 4 Gintama...
Looking back, I am surprised at how many games I was able to play and complete this year, and also how many of them were actually great. Sure, it’s easy to pick holes in even the best of them, but 2017 was truly one of the best years in Video Game history. I tried to trim list list down to 10, but I just couldn’t bring myself to cut down on the games I had an absolute blast with. Even after removing games like Cryptark, Sniper Elite 4 and Endless Space 2 (which I am managing to subtly sneak in by mentioning them here), the list just wouldn’t go below 25. So I played around with the list, bunched games together and threw some in the honorable mentions. Screw it, these are great games, they need to be on this list. Play them, if you haven’t already! Yakuza Zero Come f...
Here are Darren’s Top 10 favorite games of 2017: Asura Asura is an Action Rogue-like set in a fantasy world inspired by the richness of Indian mythology. It features a unique procedural skill tree which changes on every play-through. Yakuza 0 Tokyo 1988. Getting rich is easy, the women are beautiful, and everyone wants in on the action. It’s time to become Yakuza. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Zelda’s return is an open world masterpiece. Mass Effect: Andromeda It’s an unpopular opinion, but I enjoyed the game even with its faults. Nex Machina Nex Machina is an intense arcade style twin-stick shooter from Housemarque. Taking hints from both Robotron and Smash TV, Nex Machina focuses on pure action, voxel destruction and competition in the distant, cablepunk...
