Cliff Bleszinski working on a new first-person shooter and it’s not Gears of War

Games development legend (and Unreal Tournament designer) Cliff Bleszinski has dropped a few hints that he might be looking to start development on a new fast-paced arena first-person shooter. The fascinating interview, which is well worth a listen, can be listened to on the Pointless podcast. After taking a break from the industry for the past year, Bleszinski confirmed that he has “a slide deck” for a new project. “I have a pitch. I have concept art. Minecraft sells 13 million copies for PC

The PC/Mac version of Minecraft has now officially sold more than 13 million copies as of the 13th of this month. The game is for $26.95 per copy, but certain alpha and beta versions were for less, therefore calculating the precise lifetime revenue isn’t possible. They had sold over 12 million copies in the beginning of September and had sold around 11 million copies at the end of June. Writing on Twitter, creator Markus Persson said, “The original version of Minecraft has now passed 13 million copies sold. Rainbow 6: Patriots in Development

Ubisoft’s Rainbow 6: Patriots, in its previously announced incarnation, “wasn’t working,” president of Ubisoft North America Laurent Detoc told IGN. The project is in the process of being remade, he said, adding, “If it doesn’t work, we’re not going to bring it to you.” Since being announced in November 2011, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots “got caught in the transition of going to next-gen,” Ubisoft senior vice president Tony Key said earlier this year. “Sometimes you have to take a step back and go ‘you know, I’m seeing the possibilities, but it’s gonna take more time,'” he said. GTA: San Andreas comes to Windows Phone next week

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is Rockstar Games’ biggest release to mobile yet with a vast open-world covering the state of San Andreas and its three major cities – Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas. While it has just released for iOS devices, Windows Phone users don’t have to wait long. According to Engadget: Rockstar Games tells us that the promised Android and Windows Phone versions will hit next week. GTA: San Andreas includes over 70 hours of gameplay featuring remastered, high-resolution graphics built specifically for mobile. We can’t wait to play this game.
