Unplayable at Best: Homefront – The Revolution Quick Review (PS4)

Stutters, FPS drops, downright hanging – these are some of the best words that describe Homefront – The Revolution. Not to mention that the story is a drag as well. Don’t get me wrong, it has a novel approach towards first person shooters, but it fails to deliver at every step of the way. Homefront is about defending post-invasion America occupied by North Korean forces. In an alternate timeline, North Korea is the world’s biggest superpower, providing the US with all sorts of technological innovations. However, these come with a back door and one fine day, North Korea decides to shut all of it down, rendering the US defenseless. Cut to present day, where you play as Ethan Brady, a member of a resistance group rebelling against the KPA forces in the city of Philadel...

Tag along the adorable yet badass Lombax, Ratchet and his trusty sidekick robot, Clank on their quest to become Galactic Rangers, as you blast through Blarg warships and turn your foes into pixels (all retro style) in this beautiful action platformer brought back to life on the PS 4. Since it’s debut about 14 years ago, the game has been completely re-imagined in a near-perfect form, from visually stunning environments to fun, quirky weapons. Ratchet and Clank lays hours of entertainment in your hands with its eccentric, witty attitude, staying true to its core values which made us fall in love with the original game in the first place. Just spend a few minutes on the game, and you won’t be able to put it down till you finish “just one more mission”. Talking about t...

Review: Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S

Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S and L are the latest additions to the family of RGB keyboards. While we’ve seen a lot of RGB keyboards in the recent time, thanks to the competitive market, there has been a shortage of keyboards with Cherry MX RGB switches. Masterkeys Pro S and L both make use of these switches. We were lucky to get our hands on the Pro S, and here is the result. First and foremost, let’s talk about the appearance. Cooler master has chosen a simple, no nonsense look for the keyboard, the only thing different being that the Windows key has been replaced by one with a Cooler Master logo on it. We have to say, this look works for it. With the minimalistic design, the keyboard occupies the least possible space, and it also feels great to use. The RGB LEDs used for ba...

Review: Samsung T3 Portable SSD (500GB)

Samsung is back on the block with the T3 Portable SSD. Having a capacity upto 2TB in about 45 cubic cm of space, this small device surely packs a punch. It comes with a USB Type-C port and boasts of transfer rates up to 450 MBps, about 4X faster than current hard drives. While it comes with a hefty price tag (about INR 17,000/- for the 500 GB model), the T3 is a lucrative choice for people who want to transfer huge chunks of data quickly. Watch the full video review here: The SSD is barely the size of a business card, which means you can easily fit it in your pocket and carry your data wherever you go. And it weighs only about 51g, so it is quite lightweight as well. Technical specs can be seen as follows: Samsung Portable SSD T3 specs Drive type mSATA-based portable drive Capacity 250GB, ...

Speaking of big, the Level 10 M Advanced is actually a pretty big mouse, and may not be for you of you have smaller hands. However, if you do have smaller hands, you might want to check out our review of Ventuq X Gaming Mouse (review in progress), which is again by Thermaltake. Coming back to the Level 10 M, It’s also a bi...

Sup’Air Hockey Review

When you just begin the game, SupAir’ Hockey presents itself as a simplified Air Hockey game with some power-ups, and a rather simplified backdrop. However, if you let that hold you back from getting into the game, you’ll be missing out on what soon becomes a enjoyably frantic, and highly competitive. The basics are simple. There’s a virtual hockey puck that you hit by making swipes across the screen, and try to score points. With every hit (not a goal/point), you get a power-up. And this is where the game gets truly delightful. While some enable you to add simple modifiers like speeding up or slowing the puck for a few seconds, others let you add magnets to the opponent’s goal which pull the puck inwards, or add extra goal on their side which makes them have to def...

Batman V Superman Movie Review | Angry Pixels Podcast #4

What? You didn’t think gamers watched movies? Well, we do, and sometimes we talk about them. This time we discuss Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Watch the video below to see what we think of it, and be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Also, there are spoilers, so you have been warned! Don’t come back boo-hooing to us. And for more unsolicited opinions, be sure to check out Gaming Central.

Quantum Break Is The Max Payne For This Generation Of Video Games

Max Payne was one of the first games that we at Gaming Central played on the PC, and it had a tremendous impact on how we looked at video games. It built our expectations from them, and instilled a belief in us that excellent story telling, visuals and gameplay can go hand in hand. And this was almost fifteen years ago. Many games have come and gone since then, and except for the rare Half Life or BioShock or S.T.A.L.K.E.R., most of them have never given us that sense of satisfaction, or the feeling of pride at what Video Games are capable of. And then came Quantum Break. Remedy has been known for its critically acclaimed ground breaking games. With the dark gritty film-noir style story, slow motion effects and memorable characters in Max Payne, to the flashlight-and-gun wielding, supernat...

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Review

The movie trailer did a fine job deceiving you by cutting short dialogues in a way that make you presume that the movie is dumb and there wouldn’t be substance that can elevate the movie above what you have already seen in the trailer. Take for example the cheesy ideological dialogue from Martha Kent in the trailer “Be their hero bla..bla..” The real dialogue is “be their hero bla..bla…. Or just don’t be, you don’t owe nobody no shit nigga!”(I don’t remember the exact words….but that’s the only way how I can paraphrase it in my mind (;p)) Or take for example in the trailer the ‘1 percent chance’ dialogue that seems over the top, it actually was spoken with more poise and a well defined reason in that same argument. Bats had seen good guys turn bad in his past 20 years of crime fighting exp...

WD Black 6TB Desktop HDD Review

WD Black has launched a 6TB version (as well as a 5TB model) of the performance-driven family of consumer-grade hard disk drives, which is a 2TB increase in storage compared to the previous 4TB model that we reviewed a few months back. Like its predecessors, the WD Black 6TB is designed to give an overall boost for heavier computing tasks, while offering a good cost per TB. It is an ideal internal storage solution for power consumers looking for the highest possible performance from the market’s current hard disk drive technology as well as those looking for an alternative to the more expensive hybrid drives. WD is also marketing this drive to gamers, which certainly makes sense due to its massive storage pool. PC games sometimes reach almost 50GB in size (not including their DLC), so the ...
