Sunny Deol is known for many things, his acting and dancing not being the two of them. But his antics make him a perfect candidate for the main role in a lot of video games (unless you’re playing Dance Central), and it would be unfair if we didn’t honour the angry, not-so-young man on his birthday. So, here is our list of the top five games that would have been perfect for Mr. Deol. Sunny of War (God of War, duh) Kratos doesn’t hold a candle to our Sunny paaji. Let’s face it, the anger, the rage and the struggle, these are all iconic trademarks of this great man. The Greek Gods shit their pants when he roars. If you don’t believe me, check out this clip of this underrated superhero pulling out a hand pump from the ground and then tell me if Zeus stands a chanc...
Making a video game isn’t a one man job, well at least making a good one isn’t. Everybody from the director all the way down to game testers, play a crucial role in determining how good or bad the game will turn out. All these people work together toward a common goal, which is to make a game that leaves an impression on gamers across the world, achieving success in both critical acclaim and sales. However, there usually is one person who leads the development of a game or of the industry in general. Their vision is what pushes the rest to work toward a goal. It’s hard to come up with a brilliant idea, but it’s harder to convince others of the same. It takes a lot of courage and belief in an idea for one to rise above the rest and see that idea through till its comp...
The Gaming Central team just got back from the second Gamer Rebellion at Indraprastha University, Dwarka and it was pretty damn good. First off a shout out to all the guys and three girls who made it to the event. It was great meeting all these students who were extremely helpful and way too polite (they kept calling me sir!). Gurnoor and I started the show with our lame jokes and constant fumbling up of words, but the students seemed to have a blast though. We had presentations by Shrey and Manas about AMD, G2A and Gaming Central. After which we did an interactive quiz with the attendees and gave away some goodies. We also had Nishant with us (the guy who won a RX 480 at it’s launch) and we presented him with his brand new RX 480. After that we opened the floor for the students to e...
Demons, Hell and Big F***ing Guns. That was what DOOM was about back in 1993, and that is precisely what DOOM is about in 2016. At its best, it’s everything that you can want it to be: you, a lone soldier on a mission to eradicate demons, making his way from Mars to hell and back, and kicking ass all along. It delivers the same cathartic experience you had when you played it for the first time in pixelated graphics, using your imagination to see a floating monster head blow up with blood on your face in those tiny squares. While id software’s previous attempt to modernize DOOM with the third game may not have been that amazing an experience, they seem to have hit all the right notes with the fourth one. The game doesn’t pretend to be any more than what it is, and thatR...
After the classic center gun mode and the Vulkan API, id Software’s DOOM is getting another update this week. Free Update 2 includes two new multiplayer modes: Exodus and Sector. Exodus is a single flag “capture the flag” mode with a twist; the bases and flags keep moving constantly. Sector is more like a “capture and hold” game mode where one team captures an objective and defends it against the opponents in order to score points. Both the modes will be available to play on existing as well as new maps. The update will also add some new features to SnapMap, including customizable weapon wheel functionality – so players can carry and select multiple weapons, just like the campaign; jump pads with logic to set distance, speed and direction; 30 brand-new Hell-th...
id Software has announced the availability for the Vulkan™ version of DOOM that relies on innovative features to deliver incredible performance. As you may already know, the Vulkan™ API is a descendant of AMD’s Mantle that supports close-to-metal control across Windows® 7, Windows® 8.1, Windows® 10, and Linux®. Compared to OpenGL, Vulkan™ substantially reduces “API overhead” – the background work a CPU does to interpret what a game asks of the hardware – to deliver meaningful features, performance, and image quality and expose GPU hardware features that wouldn’t ordinarily be accessible through OpenGL. DOOM benefits from Vulkan support by using several great features: Asynchronous Shaders Shader Intrinsics or Shader Intrinsic Functions Frame Flip Optimizations Here are a couple of performa...
Disclaimer: Gaming Central does not vouch for the accuracy of any of these benchmarks. They were leaked online and were deleted soon after. However, a YouTuber by the name of Alex was able to quickly upload these on his channel. The AMD Radeon RX 480 is available in two variants, a 4 GB and 8 GB . Powered by 2304 cores, this card is capable of gameplay at very high resolutions and VR as well. The memory on the Radeon RX 480 graphics card is clocked at 8 GB/s which gives us a total of 256 GB/s bandwidth on the graphics board along a 256-bit wide bus interface. Here are the specifications as given by TechPowerup. With these amazing specifications, it’s hard not to expect an equally amazing performance. And for a price tag of $200, the RX480 is a beast. Without further ado, let’s...
DOOM has been exhilarating for both old and new fans alike, and the first post launch update ensures that the hype train doesn’t slow down. In addition to introducing a Photo Mode for taking in-game screenshots, it brings back the original DOOM aiming style, with you gun placed right in the center of the screen. It looks like this: Brings back some memories, doesn’t it? For those who don’t know (it’s hard to think of anyone), this is what the original DOOM looked like: Doesn’t seem very realistic, we know. But hey, you’re on a space station, shooting demons in the face, so what the heck. You know you love it. This setting can be enabled in the “weapons placement” section in the options and is available in all game modes. In addition to this,...
Steam Summer “Picnic” Sale is here for 2016, and we have to say, it’s a little disappointing. With no flash sales and no daily deals, the sense of discovery, the anticipation that caused you to make those impulse purchases are gone. Also, the titles are not expected to go any cheaper than they are right now, so it will be somewhat tougher to hoard up all those games we won’t play for the next 2 years. Still, Lord Gaben hasn’t forsaken us completely, and something good will come out of this. You no longer have to worry about missing the perfect deal for you, because most of the games will remain on sale till July 4th. So anyone who wants to make sure that they don’t end up spending too much (like that’s ever gonna happen), can browse at their leisur...
Guns. Demons. Speed. In DOOM, it’s all about the combat. But there’s more to DOOM than just running and gunning. See the game in action before DOOM releases worldwide on May 13 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. DOOM has been plagued with contentious opinions ever since they released the first cover art. People quite validly complained that the Doom Marine looked like yet another generic Call of Duty soldier, which instilled the initial doubts in the hearts of fans regarding the game, that it would be similar to a generic shooter, much like a Call Of Duty. And the open Beta over the last weekend has near confirmed these fears. DOOM is no longer the arena shooter fans had been waiting for. It begins right when you jump into the multiplayer and the loadout screen greets you. One of the best elements of DOOM and similar arena shooter (like Quake and Unreal) was that you started off with a melee weapon and picked up better weapons as you ran around the map trying to stay alive. This made the gameplay ...
