Digital Rights Management Software Denuvo is a common PC gaming reprobate, as often as possible faulted for send off issues and issues with execution. That may not generally be fair, yet late games like Resident Evil Village appear to have endured (opens in new tab) and, regardless of whether it fill in as planned, it leaves players helpless against administration slips by that render their games unplayable (opens in new tab). By the by Denuvo stays a famous piece of thirdparty programming among designers who need to limit robbery, and presently the organization has reported Denuvo SecureDLC (opens in new tab). This DRM programming blows away the vanilla Denuvo by safeguarding games, and it is by all accounts especially centered around F2P games, where the cash is being made through microt...
This year had seen a drastic increase in piracy with every major game being cracked within days, if not hours. However, there’s one game that has been deviously elusive – Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Protected by the latest version of Denuvo and then with VMProtect on top of it, Assassin’s Creed: Origins has turned out to be a tough game to crack. Ever since then, every other major release has remained uncracked. This same version of Denuvo is also being used to protect Sonic Forces, Injustice 2, Football Manager 2018, Need For Speed Payback and Star Wars Battlefront 2. As of writing this article, none of these games have been cracked. After the beating they took earlier this year, it seems like Denuvo has finally stepped up their game. Does this mark the end of pirac...
Ubisoft’s latest addition to the Assassin’s Creed franchise looks amazing, but according to the internet, it suffers from a massive performance issue: high CPU usage. Users have been complaining on Steam forums, saying that CPU usage goes as high as 100% while playing the game, causing frame drops and stuttering. “It really doesn’t seem to matter what kind of GPU you are using,” one player complained. “The performance issues most people here are complaining about are tied to CPU getting maxed out 100 percent at all times. This results in FPS [frames per second] drops and stutter. As far as I know there is no workaround.” According to Volksi, whose team was behind the Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus crack, the performance hit is because of the dual DRM implemented in Assassin...
Denuvo became the most hated anti-piracy tool soon after its release, but it’s not hard to see its downfall. With games getting cracked left and right (um, Wolfenstein II got cracked BEFORE it even released), we have to wonder: deep down, do pirates actually love Denuvo? Let’s face it, piracy has been a huge thing ever since the beginning. Whether it was copying a cassette-based game using a recorder, or finding a workaround for Hyper Loaders, pirates have always welcomed these challenges with enthusiasm. Subverting these mechanisms became an achievement in itself, along with the thrill that came with it. So much so, that someone dumped the 1983 International Soccer for the Commodore 64 (that originally came on a cartridge) onto a cassette tape, along with a modification that h...
Denuvo was a big deal back in 2016, especially after the group 3DM deemed it “uncrackable” and said that no protected games would appear online for at least 2 years. However, soon, we saw leaks of pirated footage of Rise of the Tomb Raider, and surprisingly, the game was cracked indeed. Since then, a lot of Denuvo-protected games have been cracked, sometimes within the week of release. The situation was the worst when Total War: Warhammer II was released, and cracked WITHIN HOURS. Even after Warhammer II, the situation keeps getting worse. Shadow of War, another major title protected by Denuvo got cracked one day after launch. In the wake of these events, we have to wonder; how is Denuvo still a thing? And for the devs and publishers the question becomes: Is it worth the invest...
Titanfall 2 has removed Denuvo anti-tamper protection, and, as was to be expected, the games was cracked and uploaded to torrent sites near instantly. The game was received really well critically but hasn’t sold as well as it should’ve. This was primarily due to an terrible release window, right between Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. With an extremely enjoyable single player campaign and a fun multiplayer, Titanfall 2 was one of my favorite games last year, and it’s absolutely worth playing. [interaction id=”596c92055ef522b21624c7c0″] Titanfall 2 getting cracked is not a direct hit to Denuvo, since it happened after Denuvo was taken off the software, but it does re-affirm a negative perception towards it by gamers. About Call down your Titan ...
Bioware has removed the Denuvo anti tamper technology from it’s recently released game Mass Effect Andromeda. They did this with a new update 1.09. The patch fixed various single player bugs, and added new multiplayer content and features and also apparently removed Denuvo from the game. [interaction id=”596732935cc7ece51b3602e0″] It isn’t clear if this was intentional or not as there was no information about it in the official patch notes. Oddly enough, in a previous update of Mass Effect Andromeda(1.05) a newer version of Denuvo was included. Although the game has been cracked within 2 months of its release. Some of the other games have had their Denuvo removed by their respective developer are Hitman, Doom, Inside etc. They might be trying to redeem themselves by...
4 days is all it took Baldman to find a way to crack Denuvo on Tekken 7. A working crack is out along with the ability to get the Season Pass Bonus and the extra upcoming DLC characters. That’s not the end of it though, there’s also an online fix that allows users of the cracked version of the game to play against each other. Fitgirl has also commented that a Repack for Tekken 7 should be up in the next 24 hours. With all the Denuvo games slowly being cracked or bypassed by people like CPY, Baldman and CPY we wonder if this is finally showing the shortcomings of Denuvo DRM and will have to wait and see if a V5 of Denuvo is in the works. The past 30 days have probably been the best for pirates with cracks for Dishonored 2, Prey, Mass Effect Andromeda, Nier Automata and Sniper G...
In a recent FAQ put out by Ubisoft, new information about the PC version for Watch Dogs to has been revealed. It seems like a lot of care and attention is being put towards the PC version in order to make it look like a proper PC title, instead of a shabby port. 4K support and PC-centric UI looks to be a recurring highlight. Also present is Denuvo anti-tamper software protection, which some might be put off by, but is there for obvious reasons. Here’s the whole list of details as on the official blog: Will there be an FPS cap? No. FPS is entirely uncapped. We also have normal and sparse V-Sync modes, allowing you to cap it at monitor’s refresh rate, or half your monitor refresh rate, if you choose to. Will the resolution be locked? No. Resolution will not be locked. PC players will b...
Jonathan Blow’s latest game, The Witness, has been out for a few days now, and is being showered with praises and glowing reviews. However, none of that seems to stop thousands of PC users from pirating the game instead of paying for what seems to be a worthy purchase. Blow tweeted today that “It seems The Witness is the #1 game on a certain popular torrent site. Unfortunately this will not help us afford to make another game!” The independent developer then continued to lament the potential impact of his game being stolen: “I’m glad that a lot more people will be experiencing the game! But I also want to be able to make another comparable game next! Just sayin’.” For Blow’s hit game Braid, which some would argue was a catalyst for the indie ...
It seems like more and more games are becoming Denuvo DRM protected, and the new upcoming games such as Square Enix’s Rise of the Tomb Raider and Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal will be also joining the Denuvo DRM bandwagon. The association of Denuvo with Far Cry Primal was found after reading its EULA which stated THE PRODUCT IS PROTECTED BY DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE (“DRM SOFTWARE”) AND DENUVO ANTI-TAMPER PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY (“ANTI-TAMPER TECHNOLOGY”). while Rise Of The Tomb Raider was briefly shown on the Denuvo’s website. The worrying part is that the EULA also stated that CERTAIN FILES OF THE ANTI-TAMPER TECHNOLOGY MAY REMAIN EVEN AFTER THE PRODUCT IS UNINSTALLED FROM YOUR COMPUTER. Denuvo DRM was in news recently as game crackers reported that they had diffi...
