NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 Revealed

NVIDIA has finally revealed their response to the RX 480, AMD’s high performance budget GPU – the GTX 1060. The card promises huge improvements, claimed by NVIDIA to be faster than the GTX 980 which comes at a price tag of about $400, while the GTX 1060 is said to cost only around $250.

The GPU will have 1280 CUDA Cores, a base clock speed of 1.5 GHz with about 6 GB of GDDR5 memory running at 8 Gbits/s. It will have about 4.4 Teraflops of computing power and is said to be VR ready with a TDP of only about 120 W.

If the card delivers on what it promises, you can have a great GPU to run all your games in high settings without them straining your wallet. But while these specifications sound impressive on paper, we still need to find out how the card performs in real life and whether it is able to make an impact on the RX 480, which has gotten some heat due to power issues.
