Ubisoft Montreal was named Studio of the Year at the prestigious Golden Joystick Awards presented in London, UK. This prize, voted for by players around the world, was given to its President and CEO, Mr. Yannis Mallat, during the awards ceremony last Friday. This is the first time Ubisoft Montreal has won in this category.
“I am extremely happy to accept this award on behalf of all our teams at Ubisoft Montreal. To be chosen Studio of the Year by players from around the world is a great honour and proof that we are moving in the right direction. We are fully dedicated to creating touching experiences that also enrich and entertain the lives of millions of people who play our games. This award is a tribute to our employees’ passion and talent”, declared Mr. Mallat.
Founded in 1982 and organised by Future Publishing, the Golden Joystick Awards annually recognises those video games and video games developers that stood out in their different categories. It is among the most well-known award ceremonies in the international video game industry with over 9 million votes being cast this year alone.
