PlayStation 5 To Launch In 2019, Will Run Games At 240FPS?

Gamingbolt recently spoke to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, and asked him about the successor to the PS4. Pachter believes that the PS5 will be backward compatible with PS4 Pro (which also means that it will play base PS4 games) and it will probably release in 2019. He goes on to say: [interaction id=”595f3dd0f7ddd65e0bce07d9″] “I really like Shawn and I don’t think he is attempting to mislead anybody. The PlayStation 4 Pro is better [from a technical perspective] than the PS4, so I think that’s a half step towards the PlayStation 5. I think the PS5 will be another half step. So he is being honest when he said he is not doing a half step but the PlayStation 5…how much faster can it be? It will surely support 4K. Will it support 240 frames per second? Great. W...

Xbox Pokes Fun At Sony For Using Doctored Footage of Anthem

It seems like the console wars are on again and any misstep would cost a lot. Recently both Xbox and PlayStation had hosted a video of Anthem which is Bioware’s new IP on their YouTube channel. But Sony immediately removed the video from their channel, later it was found that they had used doctored footage from Xbox One X and changed the Xbox buttons prompts to PlayStation button prompts. Due to this mishap the marketing manager of Xbox, Aaron Greenberg, has tweeted-   Oops! 😂 https://t.co/RM89njbD8M — ✖️Aaron Greenberg✖️ (@aarongreenberg) July 3, 2017 The Marketing Manager is having fun with this story but on the other side there was no comment from Sony’s side, but it is clear that they might not be having fun with the story. This footage was shown by Xbox at E3 to show ...

Sony Japan Studios Working On Multiple New Games, New IPs and Sequels Coming Soon

Sony Japan Studios has many great games under it’s belt like Bloodborne, Gravity Rush, Knack, Shadow of the Colossus, Ape Escape, The Last Guardian etc. But it won’t be taking a break as they are working on multiple games, new IPs and sequels like Knack 2, Shadow of the Colossus Remake, Everybody’s golf etc. In a recent interview with IGN, the Senior Vice President Allan Becker said- “At Japan Studio I think we have a lot of talented people, but for whatever reason I think we fell behind in terms of technology, and that started way back in the PS2 days and PS3, Japan Studio wasn’t producing that many titles. And so with PS4, we’re really starting to build the technology back up.” Although he did not state any titles that they are currently working on but he did say-  “Wit...

What Happens To Your Games If You Die

We all have migrated from owning discs of games to owning digital copies in our digital libraries. It could be Steam, Origins, Uplay, PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. Some of us might have an account that’s not worth much but there are also people who’ve spent more than a thousand dollars in just games. So what happens in the unfortunate event that you die? Ever wondered what happens to your digital library? Well, a user on the Steam Community asked if they passed away and pass on their steam account in their will, would it be done. Well, there’s an answer to that and the answer is yes. If you do state it in your will, Steam will not block the change of ownership. Here’s the statement from one of the steam moderators: Well, that’s good news for Steam users bu...

The Top 7 Most Disappointing Announcements At E3 2017

We covered the top showings at E3 2017 and now we’re covering the disappointments from E3. This is all based on my personal opinion, which will differ from yours so please, don’t come at me with your pitchforks. Nintendo Metroid Prime 4 Nintendo had a pretty great conference, probably the best conference this year so choosing a disappointing announcement was kinda hard. This was extreme nitpicking but they announced Metroid Prime 4 with what was essentially a gif of the title of the game. It hyped everyone up for sure but then we have nothing else, no images or screenshots or alpha footage or anything. Sony Monsters of the Deep Okay, what? No seriously, why even announce this? A Final Fantasy Fishing game for the VR because apparently, people’s fantasy is to fish. Microso...

Sony blocking Cross-Play for Profit?

With recent announcements that Minecraft will allow cross-play between all the platforms and Rocket League for the Switch also announcing that it’ll feature cross-play, Sony has made a strange decision and have blocked cross-play on their platforms. The reasoning behind this decision is very weak and quite frankly, not a smart one but what do we “players” know. In an interview with Eurogamer, PlayStation global sales and marketing head Jim Ryan had this to say, “We’ve got to be mindful of our responsibility to our install base”, he says. “Minecraft – the demographic playing that, you know as well as I do, it’s all ages but it’s also very young. We have a contract with the people who go online with us, that we look after them and they are within the PlayStation...

Microsoft’s Xbox One X To Trump PS4 Pro?

When the Xbox One was announced originally, people were skeptical if it was more powerful than the PS4. Turns out it was not as powerful as the PS4 which led to a lot of criticism towards Microsoft and Xbox. Then came the PS4 Pro and people bashed Microsoft even more. Sony even upped their exclusives’ game in the meantime which led to the rise of PlayStation’s popularity which left people wondering if Microsoft would step up their game and if so then how? We heard rumours about Project Scorpio for a long time, every couple of months we would get new information but nothing substantial about it. Then they revealed that Scorpio would run games at 4k and people were skeptical but still intrigued by the idea of it. Now, we finally have it officially announced, with the specs and ga...
