Monolith has released a new gameplay trailer for Middle Earth: Shadow of War, that explains the new Nemesis system in a little more detail. For the uninitiated, the Nemesis system was introduced in Shadow of Mordor and was a way of keeping a track of the player’s actions in battle. Should you fail to kill an enemy, or worse, fall prey to him, that foe would be promoted and become more powerful. Not only this, but the next time you went to fight them, they would even reference the previous fight and your failure. The new Nemesis system in Shadow of War expands upon the original one, extending to buildings and fortresses. Building up to the hype, the publisher has released a short ( I mean, really really short) teaser that offers a glimpse of what we can expect from the game. The teaser doesn’t reveal much (You don’t say , huh) but it does have something really cool. Talion can be seen riding a winged beast majestically over the battlefield, possibly a drake, which gives me hope that we might actually get to do that in the game. Soon after the game was leaked recently, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced the release date for Middle Earth: Shadow of War, along with the announcement trailer. Shadow of War will feature the return of Talion and Cerebrimbor as the Blight Lord, on a quest to infiltrate the armies of Mordor and turn them against Sauron, the Dark Lord. The game will also expand on the Nemesis System introduced in Shadow of Mordor. According to the press release, the Nemesis System will now be applied to the entire world, and player actions will shape the environments and characters, resulting in an experience unique to each player.
