Nintendo is working with a team of former Google developers on a new location-based Pokémon game for smartphones.The game will involve going to real world locations while playing on your phone in order to catch Pokémon monsters. The game will be released in 2016 for ios and android,developed in partnership with The Pokémon Company and Niantic, which as a Google subsidiary made the location-based game Ingress.The game will include in-app purchases, which given Pokémon’s status as a popular children’s game – although it has many adult fans too – could prove controversial. EA has published the game’s first full-length trailer and updated its website with more details. Electronic Arts revealed a new Star Wars mobile game called Galaxy of Heroes, but the publisher didn’t say much about it. Galaxy of Heroes is described as an “RPG-style” turn-based game where players collect characters from throughout the sci-fi franchise’s history to form a super-team. You can choose to play on the light or dark side, stacking your squad with iconic characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Stormtroopers, among others. The makers of the Angry Birds,lans to terminate as many as 260 employees in a restructuring that gets the studio back to its core businesses after a period in which it “did too many things,” according to its CEO. In our current financial condition, we must now put focus on where we are at our best,” Pekka Rantala, the Rovio CEO, said in a statement. The brutal space shooter from 17-bit will launch a separate edition for mobile devices in 2016, the studio and publisher GungHo Online Entertainment America said today. The game will be called Galak-Z: Variant Mobile. The original Galak-Z launched earlier this month for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC and has been well received by critics. The game will be optimized for the mobile platforms with new touch screen controls, a different user interface, and other revisions. In an unusual marketing strategy by Bethesda for its popular mobile game Fallout Shelter, as the developer is promoting the title from the dating app, Tinder. Tinder of course is a hotbed for fake profiles, but this one actually comes from Bethesda.The company is promoting it on Twitter with the tag line “Date a Dweller.” A Kotaku reader who found the Fallout Tinder profile says the page directs you to a download link for Fallout Shelter. It would be funny for the joke to continue to an actual conversation, but that might get creepy/weird pretty quickly. Square Enix has recently announced that it will end its Dive In game streaming service for the mobile devices on September 13. They also said that they will reimburse the customers who have purchased a 365-day plan for the service with Square Enix Crystal Credits, which can be used on various online games and services that the company offers. The service was launched in December 3 last year, after being delayed from its original October 9 launch date. The service allowed mobile users to play Square Enix games on their mobile devices through streaming. The service offered the titles Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy VII International, and Season of Mystery: The Cherry Blossom Murders on launch.
