Every month I sit down to write these Life at GC articles and every time I think to myself “Man, we didn’t do a whole lot this month“, but when I actually get to writing about the events I realize how much stuff actually went down on these occasions. Game of Dorms at Shiv Nadar University So we had a fairly productive month this time around and one of the biggest events had to be Game of Dorms that we had over at Shiv Nadar University. The college had us over for their 3 day fest where we held a FIFA 17 and DOTA Tournament as well as a Gamer Rebellion for the students. I handled the FIFA tournament, while Jasmeet took care of the DOTA tournament. Shrey and Sachith took care of the VR system that we had on showcase while Nikhill kept shuffling back and forth making sure he...
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they have wasted the better half of this year? It feels like just yesterday I was writing up assignments for college and now I’m sitting at the fag end of 2016. If you’re reading this article and wondering how the year went by in the blink of an eye and are in dire need of something to show for the year, I suggest you take part in our first ever Game of Dorms tournament. Now you might wonder what exactly is this Game of Dorms business and why did I not think of that name! As you know, we at Gaming Central are trying to portray gaming as a positive sport and lifestyle in India. Over the past few months we’ve done various events where we called both community influencers and gamers to take part in the various activities we had pla...
This month has been a relatively quiet month here at the Gaming Central office. Didn’t really go out much, just sat indoors and now taking pills for Vitamin D. But we were busy working on various other projects during the course of the month. Here is just a round up of the more interesting stuff we did this month: Game of Thrones Mod With Cooler Master, we held a competition to Power a Maker for the Power Your Passion competition. We took in entries from various makers around India and picked one winner who would get the gaming mod of their dreams. That maker is Amit Didwania, an interior designer who also happens to be a huge Game of Thrones fan. We’ve been working on a campaign called Gamer Rebellion where we showcase high end gaming PC’s in premier colleges across Delhi and Jaipur. I took this opportunity to meet with the students that reside in the hostels of these colleges and get an insight into what the gaming scene is like in these hostels. We’ve all had great memories from our college days and I just wanted these guys to be able to share their stories on our platform. A rebellion is brewing at #NSIT today at 3. I know last month I said the same thing, that we had a packed month with lots of events going on and all, but if I thought last month was hectic, I clearly didn’t know what hectic meant. September has been a hectic month, with an average of 1.25 events each week( haha, yeah I did the math). Events was pretty much the overarching theme for the month really. If there was one thing that defined the month it would have to be Gamer Rebellion. For those who didn’t hear about it or have heard about it and don’t quite know what it is, Gamer Rebellion is an initiative that we started wherein we went from college to college showcasing some of the best gaming hardware in the market right now. It all started with the launch of the RX 480 in India that we hosted in Radisson, Blu Dwar...
The Gaming Central team just got back from the second Gamer Rebellion at Indraprastha University, Dwarka and it was pretty damn good. First off a shout out to all the guys and three girls who made it to the event. It was great meeting all these students who were extremely helpful and way too polite (they kept calling me sir!). Gurnoor and I started the show with our lame jokes and constant fumbling up of words, but the students seemed to have a blast though. We had presentations by Shrey and Manas about AMD, G2A and Gaming Central. After which we did an interactive quiz with the attendees and gave away some goodies. We also had Nishant with us (the guy who won a RX 480 at it’s launch) and we presented him with his brand new RX 480. After that we opened the floor for the students to e...
