A petition has started on Change.org that wishes Lucasfilms to revoke Star Wars Licence. John Hunt started this petition with a single signature and now has over 40 thousand supporters. You can check out and vote here. The reasons stated are pretty obvious and genuine. EA has had the Star Wars video game license for the last 4 years, and in that time they’ve proven to their consumers that they honestly don’t care about the gameplay experience or content. EA Says Turning Off Microtransactions In Battlefront 2 Doesn’t Affect Earnings
Last week we saw a major backlash against Electronic Arts regarding their implementation of microtransactions and lootboxes in Star Wars: Battlefront 2. The progression system was entirely broken and favored ‘pay to win’ mechanics. Fans and gamers were outraged at the amount of greed and disregard for player happiness that EA seemed to be showing. The backlash got so bad that EA made multiple changes during the week, and finally disabled microtransactions entirely after being pressured by Disney, who owns the original Star Wars licence. Now that all the press conferences are over and most of the announcements and showcasing is done, let’s take a look at games that I found were the best at E3 2017, a kind of mediocre one all things considered. Battlefront 2 EA seems to have learned from their mistakes from Battlefront. They’ve added a single player story mode, soldier classes, and all eras are now playable. E3 kicked off this year with the EA Press Conference and boy did they like to tell and not show. They spent so long talking that people were genuinely upset and just wanted to see the games, so lo and behold, a highlight of the EA Press Conference. Need For Speed: Payback This game was previously announced but we were only shown a short trailer. At their press conference, we got to have a better look at the game and its mechanics. From what we’ve learned, the game will feature 3 playable characters with different skills and the game will also feature a day and night cycle. No more perpetual racing in the darkness. Apparently, there’s a trailer floating around on the internet for Star Wars Battlefront 2, that is, if you manage to watch it before it ultimately gets taken down.
