Back in 2012, when work on Assassin’s Creed: Origins had not yet started, developers at Ubisoft actually did not think that an Egyptian setting would work in the game. Egypt and Japan have been some of the most requested settings for Assassin’s Creed by fans of the franchise. However, series creative director Alex Hutchinson, thought that these are terrible ideas. “They’re kind of the three worst settings for an AC game.” He said, speaking in an interview. “People on the internet suggest the most boring settings.” I am really glad that the game Director for Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Ashraf Ismail, felt differently, and went ahead with Egypt, which turned to be an absolutely fantastic setting. I still really want to see an Assassin’s Cr...
What begun as a simple video game franchise back in November 2017, went on to become a universe in itself that comprises movies, comics, novels and uncountable fans. And just when thought that the future of the series was dull, Ubisoft unveiled Assassin’s Creed Origins, the game that gave a new spur of life to the series with its revamped gameplay mechanics and the vast open world of Ancient Egypt. Assassin’s Creed introduced a new genre of games with Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad on the last generation of consoles, a genre where the player can climb on top of almost anything and discover historic locations. Initially, Assassin’s Creed was supposed to be a spin-off title of Prince of Persia where the players would take charge of a female Assassin who would have protected the p...
Assassin’s Creed Origins appears to be the perfect Assassin’s Creed Games, even though it features microtransactions. Yes, you heard me right, I called a game perfect even though it features microtransactions. The game does follow the current trend of microtransactions but it does it quite differently than Shadow of War or Battlefront 2 or other AAA titles for instance. For starters, it does not feature loot boxes. Loot boxes are rapidly gaining popularity. In its most basic sense, loot boxes gamble your real money for in-game stuff. But instead of gambling on loot boxes, Assassin’s Creed Origins permits you to directly buy stuff such as legendary gear, skill points and map markings, aka time savers, from the store. The best part is that all of the stuff sold in the marke...
With all the time we’ve spent playing Assassin’s Creed: Origins, we’ve come to love the game a lot, and noticed how much thought the developers have put into making the world an absolute delight to explore. So here are 10 things Assassin’s Creed: Origins does better than any other open world game. Story & Characters The stories in AC: Origins evoke the entire spectrum of emotions. Gone is the melodrama of past games in the series (and most video games in general). Instead you’ll experience stories that evoke laughter as often as they evoke anger or sadness. Characters in AC: Origins are motivated not just by being inherently “good” or “evil”, but by relatable human emotions such as vanity, rivalry, fear, loneliness, pettiness, sexua...
I feel like I’ve waited a really long time to say this – Assassin’s Creed Origins is fantastic game, and not just that, it’s easily among the best games this year. After the last few entries in the series, I had pretty much given up hope. It was hard to imagine the series coming back from Syndicate’s dull gameplay and narrative, or living up to the graphical spectacle (not considering the bugs) of Unity. However, Assassin’s Creed: Origins not only fixes any issues I had with the series, it goes a few steps further and makes so many useful changes in gameplay design and narrative structure, making this really feel like a new start for the franchise. There’s so much I love about Assassin’s Creed: Origins that I don’t even know where to begin. This was the first time in months that I di...
Taking a two year break seems to have done wonders for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, with Origins turning out to be a great game. As much as we like the game, we can also notice some major titles that seem to have inspired the different elements in Origins, and it’s sure worth mentioning. Here are the 5 games that seem to have a major influence on Assassin’s Creed Origins. 1. MGS V: The Phantom Pain The first thing that comes to mind when you get spotted by an enemy and time comes a standstill (not romantically), is The Phantom Pain. The same mechanism exists in Origins as well and provides an extra layer of intensity to the stealth. Additionally, the amount of freedom that the player in choosing how to reach an objective is another area where Origins may have been insp...
Ubisoft has been known to be notorious with DRM before, but they’re taking it to a whole new level with Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Assassin’s Creed is probably the biggest franchise Ubisoft owns right now, and with Origin’s focus on single player, Ubisoft is trying their best to stop the game from getting pirated. How do they do that? Add a total of 4 layers of protection on the game. Here’s how it works: First off they have Denuvo protecting the game. But Denuvo had failed with almost every AAA title released this year. So they added the notorious VMProtect DRM, which is significantly harder to crack, and is the main reason why the game’s performance is tanking on PCs. Then they have UPlay’s DRM layered on top, and then Steam’s own DRM. That...

Ubisoft’s latest addition to the Assassin’s Creed franchise looks amazing, but according to the internet, it suffers from a massive performance issue: high CPU usage. Users have been complaining on Steam forums, saying that CPU usage goes as high as 100% while playing the game, causing frame drops and stuttering. “It really doesn’t seem to matter what kind of GPU you are using,” one player complained. “The performance issues most people here are complaining about are tied to CPU getting maxed out 100 percent at all times. This results in FPS [frames per second] drops and stutter. As far as I know there is no workaround.” According to Volksi, whose team was behind the Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus crack, the performance hit is because of the dual DRM implemented in Assassin...
Assassin’s Creed: Origins has been out for a few days, and this time they have added a photo mode into the game. Needless to say, players have gotten really creative with it, and have captured some spectacular screenshots. Also, we have to admit, this is the best looking Assassin’s Creed game yet, and is definitely among the best looking games we’ve ever played. Egypt looks absolutely stunning, especially when maxed out on a PC. Some of these screenshots look so good, you’d be forgiven for thinking that they were real life pictures. Pirates have been eyeing Assassin’s Creed: Origins over the last few days, but the game has yet to be cracked. Assassin’s Creed: Origins has been sitting on torrent sites since days before release, but a crack is not yet available, and we now know the reason why. Ubisoft has been using two layers of protection for this game – Denuvo and their own UPlay DRM. While both UPlay and Denuvo have been bypassed previously, what’s causing the delay this time around is the version of Denuvo that being used, and the addition of VMProtect over it. As popular hacker, Voski, explains: “VMProtect is software that protects other software against reverse engineering and cracking. Although the technicalities are different, its aims appear to be somewhat similar to Denuvo, in th...
Assassin’s Creed Origins comes out today, and for once I’m excited about a new game in the franchise. The reason? Ubisoft is making a ton of changes to their original Assassin’s Creed formula, and it’ll be surely interesting to see how that turns out. To prepare yourself for the launch, here’s 5 new things you should know about the new game 1. Prepare Well Before You Assassinate The biggest change, perhaps, is the addition of a new RPG level system. In earlier games you could assassinate a target in a single hit, but here it won’t be possible if the target is a higher level. If anything, once you fail and try again, you’ll only find your mission harder as the target would have taken additional measures. So you better make sure you prepare before yo...
