Sony reveal PlayStation 4 Interface

Although E3 has finished, Sony continues to disclose more and more information about its latest product, PS4. Their most recent news has to do the consoles interface and with it social functions.

  • The panel based page not only displays your games but also your friend’s recent activities as well as access the Playstation store.

  • You can view your friend’s trophies, recent activities, shared videos, etc by clicking on their profiles. Sony has also confirmed that you can choose to appear by your PSN ID to strangers and by your actual name to friends.

  • You can like your friend’s activities.

  • After watching a shared video you may (if you own the game) press the onscreen Start command to play that game or simply press the PlayStation button to return to what you playing

  • After purchase, game pages allow you to download a title’s single or multiplayer modes.

  • A games page would also show demo options, shared videos and whatever else the developer offers.

  • You can have a game downloading while you play another.

  • Text prediction messaging is available if you type with the controller.

  • Messages will overlay on top on the screen while playing.

  • Messages will be displayed in a thread. Chats with multiple people too are possible.

  • In a multiplayer session you can view the people in that particular session and the time elapsed. Clans of 18 can be formed with your PSN friends.

  • You can view PS4 gameplay videos from friends on your phone.  Also you can purchase and download games to your PS4 from your phone

Sony has really given a variety of options to the gamer by providing so many of these interesting and rather useful extras. Although Xbox 1 has a lot to offer, Sony has definitely put their best foot forward and has given Microsoft a run for their money.
