As a part of Sony’s earnings report for the fourth fiscal quarter for financial year 2016-2017, the company announced that they had shipped 2.9 million units of the PlayStation 4 in the last three months. In the entire fiscal year, they shipped 20 million PS units.
Adding up the numbers in the graph above, Sony has shipped a total of 60 million PS4 units globally, which is precisely what they had forecasted to ship by the end of the fiscal year. Another noteworthy thing is that the company forecasts the number of shipments for this year to be around 18 million.
