The Console War Is Over, Here’s A PS4 and Xbox One Hybrid Console Combo

After 4 years are you still confused about which console to buy PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? Well, this guy has found the solution to this console war and made a lot of people’s decision easy. A console modder by the name of Ed Zarrick has made a console that suits him best and you would also want this console sitting under your TV as well. This modder is better known as EdsJunk, and spends his spare time taking apart consoles and combining them or making them more portable or giving them his own touch to the console or building custom housing. His latest project has ended the console debate by combining a PlayStation 4 and an Xbox One with the ability to swap between consoles with the flick of a switch (no pun intended).

He explains: “I was not sure how I was going to accomplish it, but I went ahead and tore apart both of my systems and started playing what felt like a puzzle on how I could fit all the parts together inside the smallest case possible. “After I got the right idea of how I wanted it laid out, I went to cutting acrylic and ordering parts. After about two weeks and some problem solving, the Xstation was born!”

Ed managed to squeeze both of the consoles into a casing not much bigger than an Xbox One, to which he added some nice flashing lights and a switch that enables the user to flick between consoles instantly.

“Both consoles are run into a 2×1 HDMI switch which is controlled by an Arduino,” explains Ed.”The Arduino also controls the status LEDs and the relay inside. When you push the switch button, it will swap between the two systems. It provides power to only one console at a time as running both machines simultaneously would turn the Xstation into a frying pan.

One previous project that is quite exciting and practical is the Playbook 4s, which is essentially a PS4 laptop. “You have some options for your custom PlayBook,” he says. “First off, you may choose either white or black for the main case colour. Then you can also choose the colour of the accents – for those, pretty much any colour can be chosen. Also, I will offer to put your Gamertag on the system if you choose.”

Unfortunately, that piece of technology with leave a big dent on your wallet, you’ll be looking at $1,495.00 (£1168.19) plus shipping and handling if you’re in the market to buy.
