5 Things Mafia III Does Better Than GTA V

We know that Mafia III has not received the most welcome reception as many expected it to. But there are many things the game gets right, and these are things that have made my time with the game a lot more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. The game’s story, setting, characters and core gameplay all seem so well tailored for the time period it is set in. Even though the game has a massive open world setting, it is great to see equal importance given to the characters and story. As much as I have enjoyed my time with GTA V, there are certain aspects where Mafia III clearly does way better than GTA V ever did. This is where I think Mafia III takes the lead. It boasts of a large open world but at the same time keeps your mission and side missions focused on an overall objecti...

There is no shortage of mods for Bethesda’s popular RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and yet they never seem to be enough. Some dedicated fans want to take it to a higher level. TESRenewal, the team responsible for giving us the divine merging of Morrowind and Oblivion (called Morrowblivion, duh), is working on another overhaul that combines Oblivion with the engine of Skyrim, bring the game back to life in modern day graphics. Skyblivion aims to take the entire game of Oblivion and port it to Skyrim as a mod, bringing every quest, NPC, location and whatnot along. You might want to think of it has TES-ception. It has beenin works for quite a while, and the team has just released a video showing their progress. The project doesn’t seem to be ready for release yet, as it has onl...

Rise Of The Tomb Raider Review (PC, PS4, XBONE)

The game begins in a fantastic way.  A typical Tomb Raider beginning. She was on a cliff-face climbing to the top of a mountain to find the lost city, when the entire mountain pass was struck by a lightening storm which starts an avalanche. What I loved about this was that sheer desperation I felt, that kick to the head that made me role play. The fact that if I didn’t move I will die made me clutch that controller and just run like hell! This game is extremely great in the action it delivers because there are just so many moments when sh*t just goes crazy and surviving is just a matter of quick reflexes, and they are fast, in combat and in exploration, you rarely find yourself struggling with the controls. It’s a refreshing touch after having cursed Assassin’s Creed Synd...

The Smallest Gun In History, Only On Battlefield 1

We have seen a ton of content from Battlefield 1 in the past few weeks, and it seems like the game has much more in store for us. As DICE claims, this may be the best single player campaign the company has ever made. It seems that the game may also feature what is the smallest gun in the history of guns. Known as the 2.7mm Kolibri Car Pistol, it fires a three grain projectile at about 650 feet per second, and was manufactured shortly before WW1. The production was ceased due to demand for military weapons for the war. However, the Battlefield 1 universe deems the gun fit for use in battle, and you can have it. The gun reminds us of the Noisy Cricket from Men In Black, but doesn’t seems to half as powerful. It seems fair, though, considering you won’t be fighting aliens in WW1. ...

Friday The 13th: The Game Gets Delayed To 2017

On its Kickstarter page, developer Gin Media announced that their upcoming horror-fest, Friday the 13th: The Game has been delayed to 2017. The game was originally intended to release this year, but a delay means that the studio can now work on a single player mode. Additionally, offline bots can also be added along the multiplayer. The game will be released initially in Spring, with multiplayer maps. The single player, on the other hand, will be released later during the summer. Specific dates haven’t been announced for either launch. Here’s the catch, though. Everyone who has already contributed to the game’s Kickstarter page will get the single player experience for free. “The first thing people are going to read here is delay,” the announcement said. ̶...

Watch Out For These Upcoming VR Games

VR headsets seem to be the centre of attention this year, and the hype is real. Whether it’s the HTC Vive or the PS VR, everyone seems to be craving for some of that virtual reality action, and for all the right reasons. Considering all this, it’ll be unfair not to have a list of the top titles that are making their debut on the VR platforms. So here it is, the GC list of the 5 best upcoming VR games (in no particular order, of course). Batman: Arkham VR Release Date: October 2016 Platform: PS VR Arkham: VR is a brand new take on the Arkham series (not a sequel, though), where you can be Batman. Finally, you can say AND mean the words “I’m Batman” (I mean, I’m Batman). The fascinating thing is that the game does not seem to be as action packed as the ori...
