Hitman Contracts hits Steam

The silent assassin Agent 47 completed his most stealthy operation to date, launching Hitman Contracts on Steam for $7 or just Rs 500, Now that is a steal literally 😉 As the first batch of Steam reviews indicated, the game initially launched without any of the soundtrack and voice work. Hitman’s verified Twitter account confirmed the issue and said that it would be fixed in an “hour or two tops.” Now the most recent Steam reviews indicate that the issue has been resolved. The problem might have had something to do with the licensing of a song that plays during the Rendezvous in Rotterdam level. While the game features an original (and BAFTA Games Awards winning) original soundtrack by Jesper Kyd, it also features a few licensed songs, including the generically angryClutch by Immortal. It’s...

The developer of open world shooter role-playing game The Division has vowed to create the best possible PC version. In a blog post expanding on the recently-released Snowdrop game engine tech trailer, below, Massive Entertainment promised PC gamers that their version of The Division won’t be a port of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. “As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development,” the development team said. “We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC.” Developers are often criticised for failing to do the PC versions of their multiplatform games justice, but it sounds like Massive, which made its name with the Ground Control and World in Conflict PC strategy games, will do its utmost to avoid...

Max Payne 3 gameplay video: maxed settings at 2560×1440

The Large Pixel Collider—if you haven’t already been introduced to it through the faint, but ominous humming that now haunts your dreams—is the most powerful gaming PC we’ve ever built. With four Nvidia GTX Titans and an irresponsible surplus of everything else, we’re using the LPC to capture gameplay footage of supreme quality, with ambitions to go beyond 4K and into a resolution super-realm populated by beings of pure light energy. Today, the LPC has instructed us to revisit one of 2012’s best-looking games: Max Payne 3. It’s Rockstar’s best technological achievement on PC, and despite being a little over a year-and-a-half old, Max’s unchecked alcoholism is gorgeous at 1440p. Previously, the LPC has captured video of Arma 3 and Metro: Last Light,...

Dota 2 will now have Ranked Matchmaking

The next big update to Dota 2 will introduce ranked matchmaking features to the game. Valve said on its official blog the mode is “aimed at experienced players who want to play in a more competitive environment and know their matchmaking rating (MMR).” As of now, each player only has an invisible MMR. To access ranked matchmaking, Valve says you’ll have to play around 150 games – a significant time investment considering games can easily last 45 minutes or longer. If you want to play ranked games with friends, they’ll need to have access to ranked matchmaking as well. Once the update is released, players will enter a “calibration phase” of 10 games that determines their MMR. We don’t know when the next update will go live, but we do have a few more matchmaking details: Coaches are no...
