Bravely Default: Fairy’s Effect Announced For Smartphones

Square Enix announced on Friday that Silicon Studio (Age of Ishtaria, Grand Sphere: Legend of the Dragon) is producing a new game in the Bravely Default franchise, titled Bravely Default Fairy’s Effect. Square Enix and Silicon Studio are developing the “fantasy RPG” for smartphones, and the game is planned for a 2017 release.

Square Enix is launching a closed beta test soon for the game for Android devices for 5,000 players. The company will reveal more information on the beta test via the game’s official Twitter account.

Square Enix released the original Bravely Default: Flying Fairy game for the Nintendo 3DS in October 2012. An enhanced version of the game, titled Bravely Default: For the Sequel in Japan, shipped in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS in December 2013 and in North America in February 2014.

Square Enix released the Bravely Second: End Layer Nintendo 3DS sequel game in Japan in April 2015, in Europe on February 26, and in North America on April 15.
