Sony has decided to take the Uncharted movie adaptation in the opposite direction, the past to be specific. Now, instead of the grown up protagonist that we’ve seen in the games, it will be a prequel and feature a young Nathan Drake.
According to Deadline, the movie will star Tom Holland, the 20 year old actor who’s currently playing the role of Spider Man, and will be directed by Shawn Levy. It draws inspiration from a sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which shows the first encounter between Drake and Victor Sullivan, his long time companion. There’s no script as of now, and no word on who’s going to write it.
Earlier this year, Joe Carnahan had said that he had completed a new script for the Uncharted movie and that the developers liked it. The comment was later denied by Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog, saying that the studio hadn’t seen the script and he wished that Carnahan would stop implying that he had their support.
