And yes, some of these do have a multiplayer element, but all of them also promise to deliver a strong single player experience.
AD Infinitum
Ad Infinitum is an atmospheric single-player horror game, which puts you into a World War I setting experienced in a first-person perspective.

Conarium
Conarium is a chilling Lovecraftian game that follows the gripping story of four scientists and their endeavour to challenge what we normally consider to be the “absolute” limits of nature. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s novella At the Mountains of Madness, but largely set after the original story.
You, as Frank Gilman, open your eyes inside a room filled with strange, pulsating noises. Patterns of lights executing a Danse Macabre on the walls is presented by a queer device on the table. Having recalled nothing other than that you’re in Upuaut, an Antarctic base located near the South Pole, you find the place deserted and have a distinct feeling of something being terribly wrong.

Today Is My Birthday
In this game, you follow in the footsteps of Thomas, a rather average photographer from a small city. After an unfortunate series of events that involved his father’s death to cancer, there was an onslaught of missing person’s cases whose trails went cold at the amusement park his family held so close to their tradition.
Hosting most of their celebrations at the park and with several family members having worked there. With so much suspicious activity going on, the park had lost its customers and was soon forced to close down. On his downwards spiral, fueled by depression and alcohol, Thomas makes a promise on his father’s deathbed to visit the park one last time. Without a second though, he takes off on his motorcycle and of course, with his camera.
Upon getting to the amusement park, the protagonist (you), understand that the eerie park has more going on than may come at first glance. It is somehow supplied with electricity, and someone is not happy with your visit.
At first, you have only your foto camera and a cellular with zero balance, so you can only receive sms and calls.
The game pays a lot of attention to the details of the environment and sounds, so watch closely and listen to each rustle.

Ready or Not is a tactical first person shooter which places you in the boots of an elite SWAT team, tasked with diffusing hostile situations in intense, claustrophobic environments. It’s set in a nondescript modern America, where an income disparity between the classes have become unsustainable and the country has been plunged into havoc. Bring order to chaos with up to 8 players in cooperative play, battle enemy squads in a close player-vs-player environment, or command AI in a striking single-player mode.
Ready Or Not has been in development since June 2016, and includes an array of unique features. Today, we’re going to run through some of the already included features we’re most excited about.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
ANCESTORS: The Humankind Odyssey is a new game being developed by Panache Studios, headed by Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets. The game is set 10 million to 2 million years ago, and is a third person action adventure game with survival elements. It was initially set to be an episodic game, but as the game’s scope and ambition grew, that is no longer the case.
Patrice Desilets is the man who created the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and worked on the earlier, also arguably the best, games in the series. He had also been in charge of some of the best Prince of Persia games, including Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. He later left Ubisoft, and started his own studio. The game does look promising, but very little had been shown so far.
Agents Of Mayhem
Agents of MAYHEM is the latest open-world, third-person action game from the creators of the Saints Row franchise! In Agents of MAYHEM, you run a no-holds barred operation against a shadowy super-villain organization known only as LEGION and their mysterious leader, the Morningstar.
Following the global attacks on Devil’s Night, cities of the world are held by the LEGION’s Ministries, bands of powerful villains named for the Seven Deadly Sins. Seoul is the personal domain of LEGION’s mad scientists, the Ministry of Pride – Doctor Babylon and his rogue’s gallery of supporting villains.
You play as a variety of Super Agents – each with their own distinct look, personality, weapons, and skills. Explore the city of Seoul to rout out LEGION operatives and their vile plans to take over the world. MAYHEM’s Agents have a license to do what the hell they want, so long as they do whatever it takes to grow the agency and ultimately defeat LEGION.

Ubisoft announced a partnership with Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Interactive to create a cutting-edge new game for consoles and PC set on Pandora, the beautiful and dangerous moon from James Cameron’s Avatar film franchise. Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft studio, is leading the game’s development.
Massive is behind the creation of Tom Clancy’s The Division, which last spring broke multiple records in the games industry, including the record for the industry’s best-selling new game franchise in an opening week. They are now working on a new AAA-project based on Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time. Four sequels to Avatar are currently in development, and Lightstorm, Fox Interactive and Massive are working together to create a game that, along with the films, will continue to expand and deepen in the Avatar universe in exciting and innovative ways.
“James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment changed the way we think about immersive storytelling with the first Avatar. The ambition that they have for the forthcoming films and this game is really inspiring,” said David Polfeldt, Managing Director at Massive Entertainment. “It’s a privilege to work with them and we’re honoured that they’ve entrusted us to create an experience worthy of the Avatar name.”
Cameron and Lightstorm entered this partnership after viewing an early game prototype that the team at Massive created using its proprietary Snowdrop engine. Snowdrop is a tailor-made, custom game engine that enables the creation of ultra-realistic game universes, enhanced by dynamic global illumination, stunning real-time destruction and an incredible amount of detail and visual effects. Along with being the engine behind the development of The Division, the Snowdrop engine is also the lead engine on a number of other unannounced Ubisoft projects.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
From the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, comes South Park: The Fractured but Whole, a sequel to 2014’s award-winning South Park: The Stick of Truth. Players will once again assume the role of the New Kid and join South Park favorites Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman in a new hilarious and outrageous RPG adventure.
In South Park: The Fractured but Whole, players will delve into the crime-ridden underbelly of South Park with Coon and Friends. This dedicated group of crime fighters was formed by Eric Cartman whose superhero alter-ego, The Coon, is half man, half raccoon. As the New Kid, players will join Mysterion, Toolshed, Human Kite and a host of others to battle the forces of evil while Coon strives to make his team the most beloved superheroes in history.
Apocalypse Now
Apocalypse Now is going to be a video game for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, macOS and Linux.

There is a new STALKER game in the making, being developed by fans of the previous games in the franchise. It’s being made in Cry Engine, and early footage looks very promising. We’re looking forward to jumping back into the post-apocalyptic, atmospheric and haunting world of STALKER.
