Not As Simple As It Seems – Simple Spy PC Review

Simple Spy is a precision platformer by an Indian studio called Kodari Games. It is available on the PC (Steam), iOS and Android platforms. Developed by a two member team, this game is easy to get into, hard to master and sometimes straight up frustrating. Don’t get us wrong, that’s what we like about the game. The game combines excellent music, simple menu designs with minimalist aesthetics and hardcore gameplay. There are over 60 levels to master, each more difficult that the previous one, and you can choose from different characters. But there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. Once you actually get into the game, you realize that it is harder than it seems to be. As you jump, roll and climb walls making your way around the obstacles, the precision element of the g...

The Best Of Steam Summer Sale 2016: …It’s Something

Steam Summer “Picnic” Sale is here for 2016, and we have to say, it’s a little disappointing. With no flash sales and no daily deals, the sense of discovery, the anticipation that caused you to make those impulse purchases are gone. Also, the titles are not expected to go any cheaper than they are right now, so it will be somewhat tougher to hoard up all those games we won’t play for the next 2 years. Still, Lord Gaben hasn’t forsaken us completely, and something good will come out of this. You no longer have to worry about missing the perfect deal for you, because most of the games will remain on sale till July 4th. So anyone who wants to make sure that they don’t end up spending too much (like that’s ever gonna happen), can browse at their leisur...

Virtual Reality: The War For Exclusives

Tech giants are spending more and more on securing exclusive content for their VR technologies, with Oculus catching a lot of heat for the Rift. But in an interview with TechCrunch during the E3 conference, Oculus co-founders Palmer Luckey and Nate Mitchell quickly pointed out that Sony is following a similar approach for the upcoming PS VR headset. “You see Sony investing in their content the same way,” they said. “They want to make things that take advantage of their features that they have in the best way possible.” They’re not wrong. It makes sense for these companies to make sure that their platforms have the edge over the others. According to Luckey, this is how the VR industry will move forward for the time being. And while it may work for the developers behind these platforms...

Devil Daggers: Toughest Achievement In Video Games?

You’ve probably never heard of Devil Daggers — the indie first-person shooter was quietly released on Steam last week. It’s about as simple a shooter as you can get: all players have to do is survive an endless onslaught of low-res demons, and one hit sends you back to the title screen. That being said, simple doesn’t necessarily mean easy — most players will probably die within the first 30 seconds or so. The developers over at Sorath know how insanely difficult their game is, too — Devil Daggers only features one Achievement, and the only way to unlock it is to last for more than 500 seconds. It doesn’t sound like much, but if you’ve seen the game in action, you’ll know just how ridiculous Devil Daggers can get … and that’s probably why onl...

Rain World Gameplay Shows Fantastic Artwork & Level Design

Rain World is a challenging survival platformer set in an abandoned industrial environment scourged by a shattered eco-system. Bone-crushing intense rain pounds the surface regularly, making life as we know it almost impossible. The creatures in this world hibernate most of the time, but in the few brief dry periods they go out searching for food. You are a lonely nomadic slugcat, both predator and prey in this land. You must hunt enough food to survive another cycle of hibernation. Other – bigger – creatures have the same plan. Inspired by the aesthetics and simplicity of 16-bit classics, the gameplay consists of platforming and fast paced sneaking; both sneaking on your prey and sneaking in order to avoid larger creatures. A large focus of the development has been on enemy AI...
