A petition has started on Change.org that wishes Lucasfilms to revoke Star Wars Licence. John Hunt started this petition with a single signature and now has over 40 thousand supporters. You can check out and vote here. The reasons stated are pretty obvious and genuine. EA has had the Star Wars video game license for the last 4 years, and in that time they’ve proven to their consumers that they honestly don’t care about the gameplay experience or content. They’d rather rush out a game that will try and milk as much money out of consumers as possible. Visceral’s single player linear Star Wars game seemed to oppose the trend but the game was cancelled. In addition to that, the Visceral studio was shut down by EA, the reason being they couldn’t monetize the game a...
An Update on the Visceral Star Wars Project Our industry is evolving faster and more dramatically than ever before. The games we want to play and spend time with, the experiences we want to have in those games, and the way we play…all those things are continually changing. So is the way games are made. In this fast-moving space, we are always focused on creating experiences that our players want to play…and today, that means we’re making a significant change with one of our upcoming titles. Our Visceral studio has been developing an action-adventure title set in the Star Wars universe. In its current form, it was shaping up to be a story-based, linear adventure game. Throughout the development process, we have been testing the game concept with players, listening to the feedback about what...
What the Messenger Tells Us About Star Wars Battlefront II The death of the Emperor wasn’t the end of the Empire. While the fall of the nefarious leader sewed confusion among the ranks, the surviving officers of the Imperial navy still wield influence over vast fleets and powerful forces. But even from beyond the grave, the Emperor’s destructive control holds sway over the galaxy… not just over his enemies, but also over the servants who failed to protect his life. Part of that vengeance is enacted by Messenger droids, one of which plays a key role in the single-player story of Star Wars Battlefront II. Messengers are agents of the Contingency – the Emperor’s sinister plan put into effect in the event of his untimely demise. Outlined in Star Wars Shattered Empire and Star Wars Aftermath, t...

This rumour contains a lot of spoilers for Visceral’s Star Wars game, so please beware. It details a lot of information about the plot and the gameplay of the game. Thanks to makingstarwars.net for this information. “I recently heard a few interesting things about the main hero of “Project Ragtag” aka Amy Hennig’s Visceral Star Wars game. The story for the game as I’ve heard it sounds very complex and practically film quality in totality. The hero’s connection to the main story is strong and the structure is pretty tight overall. The story takes place after A New Hope and just before The Empire Strikes Back. We’ve been told that Todd Stashwick (12 Monkeys, The Riches, the Originals, Supernatural, Gotham and writer of Visceral’s Star Wars game) is playing “Dodger.” Dodger isn’t...
Apparently, there’s a trailer floating around on the internet for Star Wars Battlefront 2, that is, if you manage to watch it before it ultimately gets taken down. We already know that Battlefront 2 will have a single player campaign. It’s likely that the female soldier in the beginning of the trailer will play a major role in the game. Before the trailer cuts to a montage of wars, you can hear her say,”I still remember my last orders. The day the real war began.” Also, it is followed by the text ‘the untold soldier’s story’, hence making the whole scenario a lot more plausible. The multiplayer, on the other hand, will take players across all era, apparently including the prequels, the original trilogy and the new sequels as well. Pre-ordering the ...
According to industry insider Liam Robertson, Bioware Austin, the studio originally created to work on Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO is working on a new Knights of the Old Republic game. The information is based on Robertson’s anonymous sources, as he revealed in his Patreon-exclusive podcast last week, the details of which was then shared by The Star Wars Game Outpost. Here’s what Robertson said, “I’ve learned now that BioWare Austin is pretty much now exclusively working on Star Wars games and they’re going to be doing that for the indefinite future. What they’re currently working on right now—and I have this on good authority—is a sort of remake/revival of Knights of the Old Republic. I don’t know when this is set to come out, but it has been in development for a lit...
Looks like EA is learning from Activision’s mistakes, or maybe Battlefield 1 is doing really well for the publisher. The result being, as EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said, “EA won’t have another Battlefield back for a couple of years.” Worry not, for EA will have something in store for Star Wars fans for 2017. “Next year we’ll have Battlefront, the Star Wars game”, Jorgensen said. It will be much bigger and much more exciting than the previous iteration, focusing on the new movies. The current game will also get something to give players the taste of the new Star Wars movies in the form of the Rogue One: Sarif DLC, releasing on 6th December. “We were really working with the old canvas of Star Wars, the old trilogy. We weren’t using any of th...
For those who don’t know, Galaxy in Turmoil is a fan made game inspired by Star Wars Battlefront. The project was supposed to release on Steam for free, but LucasFilm had to shut it down because of exclusive licensing with EA. The studio behind the game, Frontwire Studios, decided to continue working on the title in a direction pivoting away from Star Wars, but with the fact that the title won’t be a new Battlefront game meant things might be in trouble. However, recently Frontwire announced that the full demo for Galaxy in Turmoil will be available in the third quarter of 2017. It might sound like a long wait, but the studio said they want to wait till the game is completely playable and bug-free before taking it to the public. “We refuse to crowdfund until you get the c...
