Play Anywhere: Xbox To Join Forces With PC?

Microsoft boldly announced the Project Scorpio during its E3 conference this year and has the gaming community on their feet to see how this beast of a console will turn out. Confirmed for release in the fall, it will operate at about six teraflops with 8 cores, memory bandwidth of over 320 Gbps and a speculated 12GB of GDDR5 memory. As a result, it is expected to be capable enough to play both 4K-native games and VR titles. Moreover, it will be backwards compatible, meaning you don’t have worry about your old library once you make the switch. But there seems to be a bigger, more ambitious approach at work. In an interview with The Verge, Phil Spencer, the Head of the Xbox division at Microsoft said, “One of the most significant initiatives doesn’t revolve around a single conso...

PlayStation VR Coming To PC?

According to Nikkei, Sony Computer Entertainment executive vice president Masayasu Ito told the Japanese publication that the company is thinking of making the PS VR headset, which is coming out this October, compatible with the PC’s later in its lifespan. Currently the PlayStation VR requires a PlayStation 4 to operate, while the console shares similar “internal parts” to a PC, Ito said, according to a translation by Reddit user named MSDefenseForce. While Sony might be exploring the possibility of future PC functionality, they are currently focused on developing games for the new platform. Ito later told Nikkei that Sony is planning on shipping more than 2 million PlayStation VR units this year. Since the headset wi...

Why The Hate For The Division?

It’s been some time since The Division released and I have seen many hate posts on social media, groups etc. regarding the game. All these posts made me wonder, what was wrong with the game because of which it is getting this kind of hate. Is it the typical Ubisoft game hate? Or something else. This made me do some research, so that I can find the major reasons behind all this. The most common hate reasons are: The game was downgraded and the optimization is not good on PC. This is somewhat understandable since I’ve faced this even on my Titan X, which is not able to play the game on constant 60 fps on Ultra (I’m playing on high-ultra with 40+ FPS). Other than that there many other complaints such as the downgrade, since the game looked much better in E3 trailers. Which does no...

The Division “Held Back” On PC Due To Consoles

PC gamers have again been given the short end of the stick, or as is in this case, the lower end of textures and pixels, all because their console counterparts (more like underlings) were not up to the task. While gamers have often cried out about cross-platform triple-A games having its graphics “dumbed down” for consoles, the PC version’s fidelity apparently lowered to maintain some kind of parity, but it’s not often you get confirmation of this actually happening. In a recent interview with YouTubers Team Epiphany, a Ubisoft developer spoke to them about the visuals of the game, and addresses the issue of downgrade, and if it was to maintain parity with consoles. “It is definitely a [factor],” says the nameless Ubisoft developer. “But one good t...
