The GTX 980 Ti Review (Featuring the Gigabyte G1 Gaming)

Well, this took a long time to come! But finally, here is our review of the NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti and the Gigabyte G1 Gaming WINDFORCE Edition GTX 980 Ti. At the risk of giving away the verdict before the review proper, we love these babies. We got two of these cards to get our paws on, one reference and one from Gigabyte, their G1 Gaming WINDFORCE Edition. And we were blown away by the performance, to say the least. Nvidia GTX 980 Ti (Reference) — IT’S ALIVE! IT’S ALIIIIIIIVE! Well, it’s here. And it kicks butts left and right. The 980 Ti features the a cut down version of the GM 2000 GPU present in GTX Titan X and as a result performs within the actual margin of error when compared to the Titan X. Featuring just over 2,800 CUDA Cores and memory clocked at 7GHz, this c...

Nvidia VR Headset Discovered Among Filed Patents

Latest reports suggest NVIDIA is ready to throw down the gauntlet to Oculus and HTC. Declassifiled has discovered a patent for a VR Headset filed by Nvidia on June 3. What sets it apart from other VR Headsets is it’s noticeably small size, and three included sets of cameras. We speculate this is for integrating motion recognition, as it’s touted to have “sub millimetre movement resolution”, which means it will be able to recognise even minute twitching. It will come with a “High end processor”, which we expect to be the new Tegra K1 chip, which will be powering everything from cars to microwaves in the near future. There is also a network adapter module on there. So… future Nvidia GRID candidate? Who knows!

Nvidia releases first WHQL-certified video driver for Windows 10

Last week, Nvidia officially released new Windows 10 drivers for its family of graphics adapters. Normally, that would be no big deal–graphics hardware companies update their Windows video drivers all the time. The twist is that these new drivers, version 352.84, are certified for Windows 10 by the Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL), with full support for DirectX 12. After installation, Nvidia’s GeForce Experience app reports that “this driver … is the first WHQL-certified and latest recommended driver for all pre-release Windows testing.” If you have an Nvidia adapter and you’re running the Windows 10 Insider Preview, you can download the drivers directly from the company’s download site. WHQL certification is a big deal. It means the drivers hav...

NVIDIA Day Celebrations Gear Up Mumbai Round Up

The last and final of the NVIDIA Day celebrations took place in Mumbai’s Gear Up Cafe in Powai. This event concluded the NVIDIA Day celebrations that took place in major cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad. Much like the crowd at at PlayMax, people showed up much before the time allotted to them. For this particular event we invited individuals to play a series of games and accomplish tasks within those games to complete a checklist. Gamers came in a bit confused as to what a casual tournament would entail, but they got better acquainted with the idea as the event went along. So the games we had showcased for this event were Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress and War Thunder. Most of the gamers hadn’t really played a majority of the assigned games, hence making this event a way for them to d...

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Gets an Epic Bundle

Over my 10-plus years at NVIDIA, I’ve seen, worked with, and played countless games. Few stand out to me as deserving of the term “epic.” The Witcher: Wild Hunt is one of those titles. Developer CD Projekt Red has provided gamers with an epic story, an epic adventure, and epic graphics. The untamed world of this action-adventure game is a graphics showcase, with stunning vistas and detailed characters. So, it’s exciting to me that we’re offering it to GeForce gamers as part of our new “Undeniably Epic” bundle. Available now for a limited time, customers who buy select GeForce GTX 980, 970, and 960 graphics cards, or a GTX 970M or above notebook, will get a code for a copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.   You’re going to want to experience this game at its best. NVIDIA and CD Projekt Red...

NVIDIA just announced the Titan X, its latest graphics card, at Epic Game’s GDC session this morning. And from the picture this thing looks like a monster. According to NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, Titan X is now the world’s most powerful GPU with more than 8 billion transistors (a bit of a jump from the 7 billion in last year’s Titan Z). This card is runs on the company’s new Maxwell architecture, while packing 12 gigabytes of VRAM much like the Titan Z. “It’s the most advanced GPU the world has ever seen,” Jen-Hsun said, as he presented the company’s very first production unit.   NVIDIA didn’t really reveal too much else about thie new GPU yet. The company has its own conference in a few weeks. They can sort of afford to do this as cause it sounds like the video card...
