After Pokemon Go, Niantic Already Working On Other Projects

Seeing the success of Pokemon Go, it’s only natural that other games may adopt a similar platform. In an interview for the October issue of Game Informer, Niantic CEO John Hanke said that he already has some projects in development that will make use of the Niantic platform. Pokemon Go uses a lot of information that’s based on Niantic’s first game, Ingress, and it’s possible that more games will do the same in the future. Hanke says, “That’s always been our strategy to build up a platform underneath a game that can be used for other games, and frankly other experiences that may not exactly be games, but are still within that area of exercise, discovery, and social interaction. The Niantic platform is very much a part of our long-term vision and we have s...

While everyone immediately thinks of Nintendo when Pokémon is concerned, the company only has a 13% stake in Pokémon GO. It will be The Pokemon Company and developer Niantic who will reap most of the profits from the game’s storming success.  In a press release, Nintendo announced that they will not make any revisions to the annual forecast based on the game as it will have a limited financial impact. However, they have already taken into account the Pokémon GO Plus, which is indeed being develope...
