Spotted: Halo – The Fall of Reach Animated Series Trailer

Halo: The Fall of Reach is getting a new animated series. This is the third time this story is getting told, first as a book by Eric Nylund, second as three four-issue comic book series published by Marvel, and now the animated series. The meat of the book takes place in the times before the original trilogy and concerns the pre-war human empire, the murky past of SPARTAN program and origins of Master Chief. The series has a very strong plot (I read the book and the comic. What? I was 15 and a huge Halo fan) and handles delicate topics like the morality during wars and the amount of war atrocities a government can get away with during war times, and we expect the series to be as good as it’s predecessor, Halo Legends. Halo Legends is an awesome watch by the way, boasting talent like ...

Sony and MS Set for New Console War?

Sony and Microsoft look set to be gearing up for a new console war with their latest versions of the PS4 and Xbox One. A new listing suggests the tech giant is working on releasing an Xbox One console with a 1TB internal hard drive, which could mean two new models announced at E3 in June. The release of new PS4 and Xbox One models was predicted by Netflix chief product officer Neil Hunt earlier this year, who went as far as to say that 4K support could soon be added by Sony. The price of the new model is set at $400 and has a release date listed for June 15. It could mean the new model will be launched straight after its announcement at E3, something Microsoft have done with revamped Xbox’s in the past. The new console will also come with the revamped Xbox One controller that was lea...

New Xbox One Controller?

One of Microsoft’s E3 surprises may have been spoiled. The company’s own Xbox Support website reveals a new version of the Xbox One controller that features a 3.5mm headphone port at its base. A line from the description explains that this port will “only available on controllers released after June 2015.” This timing would suggest an announcement at Microsoft’s E3 briefing next month, though this has not been confirmed. It’s also unclear if a 3.5mm port is just one of the rumored controller’s new features. The new controller design, in terms of form factor, is identical to the existing controller. This would be the first change to the Xbox One controller since launch in November 2013. Controller revisions are somewhat rare in console gaming, thoug...
