Avalanche Studios, the folks behind Just Cause 3 and Mad Max, recently put up a few new job postings with a couple of interesting tidbits which might be indicating that they are making games for the Playstation 5. 1.) The jobs say they’re for “next-generation experiences” and engines, and one mentions that the new game is in development is for “for both current and next gen platforms”. 2.) Both jobs are about adding multiplayer to the engine, so maybe we won’t need to have the community patch in multiplayer this time. It’s worth noting that this follows Hajime Tabata of Final Fantasy XV fame saying that their new IP is for next generation consoles. Here’s the official listing: TECHNICAL DIRECTOR- MULTIPLAYER Avalanche Studios is currently loo...
If you just finished Just Cause 3 and might be looking to cause some more chaos, well then you’re in luck. The second content pack for Just Cause 3’s Air, Land and Sea Expansion Pass, the Mech Land Assault is about to come this June (June 3 for Season Pass owners and June 10 for those without the pass ) Rico Rodriques will be back on the island of Lacrima, which is a home to an abandoned eDen research facility and a prison camp which is being ran by a mysterious “Black Hand”. In Mech Land Assault Rico will have to fight off against the powerful Mechs with the new Bavarium Power Core rifle, disable their shield and hijack them. Once Rico is inside he can use their powerful cannons and new GRIP Gravity Guns to hurls and mash the enemy into paste or pieces (or whatever you see fit). The conte...
In a year dominated by brilliant open-world games, Just Cause 3 still manages to make its mark in style. In a way, it’s the happy-go-lucky sibling of Metal Gear Solid 5, with both games following war-weary, bearded freedom fighters catching up with old friends, revisiting past glories and attempting to save the world just one last time. There’s no stealth, of course – Rico Rodriguez only has one volume setting, which is LOUD – and Just Cause 3 has no pretensions to art or cultural significance. It just wants to p.a.r.t.y. and cause a few big bangs along the way. This is GTA 5 without the clever script and social satire but with the destruction dial turned up to max. It’s the game Saints Row wishes it could be. It’s also the game that has more fun with physics than any game since Portal 2, ...
Can’t get enough of the gratuitous destruction in Just Cause 3? Avalanche Studios have been busy squeezing every last drop of power out of their proprietary engine for the upcoming release of JUST CAUSE 3 on December 1st. The game can be seen firing on all cylinders, with all settings turned to overkill in this video running at a 4K resolution! This clip is nothing short of an action movie trailer, no joke! Here is what the Just Cause’s YouTube page had to say about the trailer–“Wingsuit, Grapple Hook, Massive Explosions: The first Just Cause 3 Gameplay trailer takes you straight into the intense action. Watch Rico Rodriguez cause chaos to the regime of the ruthless dictator General Di Ravello, and stopping at nothing to liberate Medici, his home.” This footage is all actual gameplay. It was captured in-game using cinematic camera angles. It contains no cut scenes. Nothing was staged or scripted.
So we’ve found some Just Cause 3 screens online. These looks quite legit actually, and we are pretty impressed with them. I’ve played both the game previous games and really enjoyed them, so I’ve got high hopes for this one and these images gets me all excited again for this game. Here are the images–
Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios went to the Costa Rica rainforest during spring 2013 to get reference material for future games, the studio details in a new video. “The rich and uniquely diverse environment offered us a closer look at dense vegetation, beautiful skies, and flowing water, among other things,” said the studio. All this footage they went over there to capture isn’t just for Just Cause 2, although a lot of it is used in the video. Avalanche however said that the reference material collected during the trip–including jungle sounds and various images–will be used in “many” of the studio’s upcoming open-world games. For example, some of the sky scenes captured in Costa Rica will be shown in the Mad Max game for Xbox One and P...
