Microsoft admit Xbox One install time needs improvement

Since its release, most Xbox One owners have had an issue with the software installation, which is required for all games, is way too long. Microsoft has heard the complaints and themselves feel that it is a concern which should be dealt with, said Xbox executive Phil Spencer. “I agree. We need to get better at chunking our games so the partial install allows game to start sooner,” Spencer said on Twitter. Many gamers were of the opinion that they’d buy more games if installs didn’t take as long as 30 minutes. By “we” we can assume that Spencer is referring to Microsoft Game Studios, which publishes titles like Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 to name a few. Even though all Xbox One games must be installed, you can start playing before the installatio...

PS3 to get HBO Go app, PS4 later

Now PlayStation fanatics won’t need to wait too much longer to stream HBO content right onto their consoles, as the HBO Go app will arrive on PS3 “soon,” according to Sony, which also mentioned that a PS4 version is to follow. The HBO Go app is a free download in the PS4 and PS3, but you will have to have an HBO subscription from your cable or satellite provider to access on-demand content like episodes of Game of Thrones or Boardwalk Empire. As for Microsoft, this app is currently available on the Xbox 360 and a version for the Xbox One is on its way and should be released sometime this year. Source: Eddie Makuch

3 New Posters for ‘The Amazing Spider Man 2’

We aren’t getting a lot to work with in regard to the new Spider-Man movie that’s on its way, as in, we saw a trailer that gave us the most basic idea of what we can expect from the movie and a pretty big ass poster of Spider-Man’s back facing all three of his enemies. And now we’ve got three posters that feature Spidey and Electro both separately and together in one intense staring contest. And we get a decent look of what Jamie Foxx is going to be wearing while he takes on Andrew Garfield in skin tight Spider-Man outfit.

It’s official: iBuyPower’s Steam Machine at $499

So only in a couple of days from now will be seeing an explosion of Steam machine news coming from CES in Las Vegas. Even though we already know a lot about it, what still remains unclear is who will plan to sell their own Steam Machines and for what price. We presume iBuyPower should be one of the top contenders. They plan to make a Steam Machine around the size of a PS4, and just a bit smaller than an Xbox One, which will include a multi-core AMD Cpu, 500GB hard drive , WiFi, Bluetooth, and an AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card.       That card alone will set you back $180. If everything pans out then you can get these specifications for about $499 which could pose a major threat to Xbox One sales.

Killzone Fan Film

We are genuinely surprised with how people can make films like these in their spare time or produce videos of this quality just for fun. Here is a 15 minute fan movie called Killzone Intercept. Its’ produced by Infectious Designer and apparently took two years to make with input from from developer Guerrilla Games. Killzone Intercept occurs before the events of Killzone 4 as the ISA evacuate Helghan. A small scout squad is called upon to stall a large group of approaching Helghasts that plan to cut off the ISA convoy from reaching the extraction point. Outnumbered, the squad takes on the task with hopes of getting everyone off the planet alive.

New Infamous Second Son screens show neon powers

So far we know Delsin has a range of powers in PS4‘s inFamous; Second Son and these new screens show his neon abilities in action. The main benefit seems to be a speed boost as well as prettier projectiles – because if you are going to die it’s comforting to think you looked good. One of Delsin’s skills is apparently the ability to take other conduit’s powers, which should open up the options some what. We’ve seen the neon power coming from a female character called Abigail Walker, also known as Fetch. The process doesn’t exactly look painless and it’s unclear weather she survives – could this the game’s new moral twist? Check out the neon powers in the gallery below

Razer showcases the World’s Most Modular PC Concept Design

There’s no need to try and reinvent the wheel, and some might argue the same applies to desktop PCs. Not Razer, a company that’s best known for its PC gaming peripherals. Razer has set out to reinvent gaming desktops with a modular PC concept that’s currently called Project Christine. The idea is to simplify the processing of setting up a PC, make future upgrades easy, and eliminate obsolescence. At a glance, the renderings look a little like Thermaltake’s Level 10 line. Project Christine takes things to another level with a modular design that makes it super simple (in theory) to swap out modules on-the-fly. The way Razer explains it, a user can slot-in additional graphics modules and add more storage by either swapping out the existing storage drives or adding more modules, all on-the-fl...

Razer Unveils the Nabu Smartband

Razer is a company that is huge in the desktop gaming industry, but they have never really been well known for mobile devices like a phone or tablet. At this year’s CES, Razer announced the all-new Nabu smartband – it’s kind of like a smartwatch, “but a lot less distracting.” The Nabu is similar to the Nike FuelBand, but goes a step further, as it also displays your smartphone’s notifications, communicates with other Nabu bands that are nearby, and can be controlled by active gestures the user performs. For instance, you can set the Nabu to transfer Twitter or Instagram information with another Nabu user, simply by giving the other person a high five. Want to give your phone number to a hot gamer chick that is wearing Nabu? All you have to do is shake her hand and the information will inst...

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Compared To PC Version At Ultra

Tomb Raider is getting a sort of a upgrade, re-release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While Crystal Dynamics claims to have upgraded the graphics along with some character models, it remains to be seen how true their claims really are, especially with respect to the already graphically superior PC release. One thing is for sure, Lara Croft has definitely gotten a re-touch, but is it really good or bad? Still trying out the changes, here is another shot of the PC version compared to the official shot of Definitive Edition(Courtesy of NeoGAF). Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 28th January, 2014. What do you think of the difference between PC and Definitive Edition? Call of Duty: Ghosts Players Get Trolled

The Xbox One has no shortage of compelling features packed into that black obelisk of a console. Most notable is the Kinect voice command integration for navigating the consoles various menus. When you tell your Xbox One to ‘snap to’, ‘stop listening’, or, in the case of this video, ‘sign out’ you really get to see what the console is capable of. Watch as some unsuspecting Call of Duty: Ghosts players get trolled hard when one clever player exploits the Xbox One’s voice commands. Pretty clever.

Call of Duty: Ghosts all set for improvements based on fan feedback

Infinity Ward plans to roll out a number of competitive gaming focussed updates forCall of Duty: Ghosts, according to a post on the game’s community page, including changes to the broadcaster mode and competitive rules. The company is also looking into adding Xbox One LAN support. “These will appear as both hot fixes and TUs in the coming weeks alongside planned changes to the areas of Ghosts affecting all players, such as spawns,” wrote senior community manager Tina Palacios. “As a guiding principle, development priority is assigned to those issues which we deem to have the largest immediate impact or those affecting the broadest group of players.” eSports-specific changes, based on feedback from the competitive community, will be made in the “immediate...
