A Headset That Cures Gamer Rage

Visual designer Samuel Matson has come up with an idea which would really be of use to people like us. He has come up with an idea on how to rid the world of gamer rage. And it’s not through the conventional methods of medication, counselling or discipline. It’s simply through prevention. Sounds fairly simple doesn’t it. So here’s the science behind this idea. He’s basically made a headset called Immersion, which uses biometrics to monitor a user’s heart rate. And here’s the insane part, it actually uses the biometrics to adjust what’s going on in a game accordingly. Based on researching a number of gamer’s heart rates while playing a shooter, and using a raw prototype hooked up to an Xbox 360, the Immersion is functioned to gently adju...

5 Underrated games of 2013

In order to get the most out of a game, we as gamers tend to pay a lot of attention to reviews and online opinions on a certain game. We go gaga over scores that MetaCritic put up for games and take their word for it. But the truth is, believe it or not, sometimes these critics get it wrong. So on that note, we’re here with some of the games that we felt deserve a second chance, in other word –the underrated games of 2013.   Metro: Last Light It’s quite a surprise that this game didn’t make as much of an impression that I thought it would have. I mean, it did come out during the summer which means schools out for two months. It also came out during a time frame when there was very little competition to take on. And though its first-week sales smoked Metro 2033′...

Hitman 6 Brings Back Contracts Mode

Square Enix Montreal is no longer working on a next-gen Hitman game but series creator IO Interactive still is. Today they revealed the first details on the sixth Hitman, in development for PC and next-gen consoles. Hitman 6 (or whatever) once again stars Agent 47, the infamous, bald killing machine. The concept art released in 2012 made me worry that they were going to switch protagonists. IO knows that it wouldn’t feel like a Hitman game without him, though. Agent 47 be taking assassination contracts from ICA and receiving assistance from his handler Diana Burnwood. While Hitman: Absolution mostly took place in the United States, the upcoming next-gen game will have a global campaign. IO Interactive says that Hitman 6 uses the Glacier 2 engine created for Absolution. They emphasize...

Respawn issues hit Battlefield 4 PC

A server update that went live over night for Battlefield 4 on Windows PC has apparently caused users a number of problems and may have introduced a bug preventing payers from respawning, according to posts on Reddit and Battlelog. DICE has yet to share details on all changes made with the update, but server update R20 seems to be preventing some players from respawning after dying, according to a thread on Reddit discussing the issue. Other players are reporting on the Battlelog forums that they can’t connect to servers altogether or are booted out in the middle of matches. Some players have reported that updating their Punkbuster files solves the respawning problem. According to the thread, this quick fix does not work all the time, and some have reported further crash problems aft...

Microsoft admit Xbox One install time needs improvement

Since its release, most Xbox One owners have had an issue with the software installation, which is required for all games, is way too long. Microsoft has heard the complaints and themselves feel that it is a concern which should be dealt with, said Xbox executive Phil Spencer. “I agree. We need to get better at chunking our games so the partial install allows game to start sooner,” Spencer said on Twitter. Many gamers were of the opinion that they’d buy more games if installs didn’t take as long as 30 minutes. By “we” we can assume that Spencer is referring to Microsoft Game Studios, which publishes titles like Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 to name a few. Even though all Xbox One games must be installed, you can start playing before the installatio...

As for Microsoft, this app is currently available on the Xbox 360 and a version for the Xbox One is on its way and should be released sometime this year. Source: Eddie Makuch

3 New Posters for ‘The Amazing Spider Man 2’

We aren’t getting a lot to work with in regard to the new Spider-Man movie that’s on its way, as in, we saw a trailer that gave us the most basic idea of what we can expect from the movie and a pretty big ass poster of Spider-Man’s back facing all three of his enemies. And now we’ve got three posters that feature Spidey and Electro both separately and together in one intense staring contest. And we get a decent look of what Jamie Foxx is going to be wearing while he takes on Andrew Garfield in skin tight Spider-Man outfit.

It’s official: iBuyPower’s Steam Machine at $499

So only in a couple of days from now will be seeing an explosion of Steam machine news coming from CES in Las Vegas. Even though we already know a lot about it, what still remains unclear is who will plan to sell their own Steam Machines and for what price. We presume iBuyPower should be one of the top contenders. They plan to make a Steam Machine around the size of a PS4, and just a bit smaller than an Xbox One, which will include a multi-core AMD Cpu, 500GB hard drive , WiFi, Bluetooth, and an AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card.       That card alone will set you back $180. If everything pans out then you can get these specifications for about $499 which could pose a major threat to Xbox One sales.

Killzone Fan Film

We are genuinely surprised with how people can make films like these in their spare time or produce videos of this quality just for fun. Here is a 15 minute fan movie called Killzone Intercept. Its’ produced by Infectious Designer and apparently took two years to make with input from from developer Guerrilla Games. Killzone Intercept occurs before the events of Killzone 4 as the ISA evacuate Helghan. A small scout squad is called upon to stall a large group of approaching Helghasts that plan to cut off the ISA convoy from reaching the extraction point. Outnumbered, the squad takes on the task with hopes of getting everyone off the planet alive.
