This year’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be the first entry in the stealth-action series in years that won’t have a dedicated companion app experience, Ubisoft confirmed in a statement today. “There will not be a companion app,” a Ubisoft spokesperson said. “For Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the team wanted to focus all their efforts on the core experience.” Two recent entries in the series, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, both had companion app experiences that offered a variety of second-screen features. Unity’s, for example, allowed users to view their gear statistics, access tutorials, and look at a map of the game’s version of Paris. Meanwhile, Black Flag’s offered an interactive...
After countless hours of Witchering, our journey (or Geralt’s journey) finally comes to an end, and what a journey it was!! Expanding over 200 hours, across a huge landscape, riddled with monsters both human and beast-like, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an immensely satisfying game. Imagine a richly detailed, alive and inhabited open world like GTA 5. Combat and monster design akin to Dragon’s Dogma. Difficulty levels to satisfy any Dark Souls veteran. Deep RPG elements similar to Dragon Age and Diablo. Story surpassing that of Game of Thrones, in terms of complexity, depth and quality! Now, bring all of that together, and you have the finest RPG ever made-The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt Red have completely outdone themselves, and refined this game to near perfection. The wo...
The Crime and Police Rebalance & Enhancement mod, as shown in this video by The XXI, reworks the entire crime system in GTA. Really, the mod seems to make the entire game much better. For instance, the mod makes it so that if you commit a crime without any witnesses, then you get no stars. It also means that if you manage to kill everyone at the scene of the crime before they call 911, you’re golden. And if you use silencers, they’re actually silent. The mod tweaks the AI so it’s not as efficient a murder machine as it typically is—cops, army, and gangmembers are less accurate than normal. Some of that police force will also be women. In general, the police force will have a more varied weaponry and adjustments that make the game feel challenging, but not unfair. Download the mod here...
Developer NetherRealm Studios said it will release updates for Mortal Kombat X that will address some issues related to the game’s online performance and offer “huge improvements” for the PC version. During a livestream today, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon said that NetherRealm continues to work on the networking code performance for Mortal Kombat X, stressing that “there’s no way we consider ourselves content” with how well it plays online. “We are constantly working on the online, [that] back and forth,” Boon said. “We’ve taken steps to improve on it. It’s certainly better than where we were at launch, but by no means do we feel like we’re at where we want or need to be.” One improvement to the online experi...

When you think of it, maybe it’s not the best of ideas if video games predicted the future. You’d have a scenario where everybody is at war with each other or you’d find yourself in a post apocalyptic landscape about to fend off zombies or maybe in a spaceship like craft about to take on a whole lot of aliens. And quite frankly, no one would want a future which is depicted through video game. But there are times when things in videogames have, startlingly, come true. As creepy/spookily interesting as these sounds, there have been instances where video games have to a certain extent predicted the future by predicting events. We’ve got four such instances for you….fasten your seat belts. Solid Snake, The Original Edward Snowden If you want to be pedantic about it, it’s actually Raiden ...
