The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Review

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Review

After countless hours of Witchering, our journey (or Geralt’s journey) finally comes to an end, and what a journey it was!! Expanding over 200 hours, across a huge landscape, riddled with monsters both human and beast-like, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an immensely satisfying game.

Imagine a richly detailed, alive and inhabited open world like GTA 5. Combat
and monster design akin to Dragon’s Dogma. Difficulty levels to satisfy any Dark Souls veteran. Deep RPG elements similar to Dragon Age and Diablo. Story surpassing that of Game of Thrones, in terms of complexity, depth and quality! Now, bring all of that together, and you have the finest RPG ever made-The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Looks like a fun party!!

CD Projekt Red have completely outdone themselves, and refined this game to near perfection. The world is absolutely filled with secrets to uncover, monsters to kill and treasures to loot. And, this makes exploration so compelling, the sense of anticipation for what lies beyond always never gets old. And stumbling upon a hulking, screeching monster feels epic in every sense.

The story in The Witcher 3 is exceptionally good, and not just in the main quest, but even the many side-quests tell a a well fleshed-out tale. The characters are all excellently voiced and enacted, with believable facial animations adding greater emotion to what they say or feel. And, while you can rush through the story in under 35 hours, you’ll find it really hard to ignore the richly endowed world and the events happening in it.

The crafting and alchemy mechanics are easy to understand, and well worth learning and investing in. The card mini-game, Gwent, is highly enjoyable, with enough tricks to keep you engaged. Other than swords and axes, a mixed arsenal of magical signs, crossbows, bombs and potions make every fight tense and exciting!

The world is beautiful!!

We have no complains with this game, even if we did, it feels outright stupid to voice them for how it shines in almost every aspect. Years of hard work and care have gone in to make this game, and its shows through and through.

Verdict: Buy this game!! It is hands-down the best RPG we’ve ever played, and will be the top contender for Game of The Year (Honestly, we cannot praise this game enough without sounding like a bunch of potheads, high as a kite, describing their favorite food). Trust us, and play this game!!
