Earlier today EA has confirmed that there will be no in-game chat system for PC or Console users, however Console users can make use of in-game chat box. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users can get through this via built-in Party Mode option. Meanwhile Dice has announced that PC users can use any third party application which could support the chat system. @moodyknowsall Battlefront will utilize the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One built-in party system for in-game chat. — EAStarWars (@EAStarWars) October 13, 2015 A 40-man battlefront mode will obviously need a chat box and voice over could add some benefit to it. Origin and other third party applications on PC will surely help Battlefront players. In addition PCs have many third party software and VoIP options which could favor them, unlike consol...
EA’s Matthew Everett answered the community’s questions over the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game in development by DICE. Here is the information he provided: In Walker Assault, vehicles are tied to the power up system. When you find a vehicle power up on the map, you will need to activate it, which immediately spawns you inside the vehicle. Vehicle power ups specifically must be used within a certain amount of time Y-wings are non-player controlled vehicles. They are a support vehicle that you can call into battle within certain game modes. Split-screen will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only. Playing Missions does not grant you multiplayer career experience, but it does provide you with credit rewards you can spend on buying unlocks. He concluded by saying t...
An awful lot of the biggest games coming out this year are either RPGs or action adventures, which is fine unless you’re the kind of person I am and just cannot survive without killing mooks with things that go BAM! or BOOSH! for the rush of Adrenaline you get after fighting through hordes of enemies evenly matched to you. Fortunately for us, shooter season 2015 is right around the corner! Battlefield 4 has come back to EA’s “Game Time” promotion on Origin, which means that PC users can now play the game for free. EA is giving you seven days of free play, though the clock runs through your eating and sleeping time. But the good thing is that the time needed to install the game doesn’t get counted in the hours allotted for you to play. Once you get the game running, the clock will begin, and you’ll be notified in-game with how much time you have left. Those who want to buy Battlefield 4 when the game time ends do not have to worry about starting over, as the progress gets carried over. Battlefield 4 is not the only game available now through Game Time, though its duration of 168 hours is by far the longest. Others include Respawn Entertainment...
Final Stand, is Battlefield 4’s the last map pack for Premium subscribers. This DLC sends soldiers to the snowy mountain peaks of Russia, which would probably be a bit like the popular maps from Battlefield past like White Pass and Port Valdez. The pack includes four maps: Operation Whiteout, which takes place in a blizzard around a renewable energy array; Hammerhead, a lakeside forest environment; Giants of Karelia, a riverside location near a mountain base; and Hanger 21, which is set in a futuristic research facility housed in the mountainside. You can watch a trailer showcasing the new maps here: We are hoping for some twists and turns in these maps as DICE says it wants to “offer weapons and vehicles that behave differently than anything else on the battlefield…This...
Developer DICE has promised to fix the rubber-banding issue that has affected first-person shooter Battlefield 4 since it launched last year. Rubber-banding is an issue that sees player characters seemingly teleport around a multiplayer map as servers struggle with connection issues. With Battlefield 4 it is particularly problematic during large-scale matches which see up to 64 players on the same map. In an update on Battlelog, DICE said it was unhappy with the performance of its servers and so would take steps to improve them. “We wanted to provide a quick update on the issues with Battlefield 4 rubber-banding some players on certain platforms experienced during matches with 64-players. Looking into this further, we’re unhappy with our server performance, so we’ll be u...
Not sure how many of you’ll will have an idea as to what Battlefield 2142 is. It was the 2006 Battlefield spin-off set in the future. One of the modes on that game called Titan was quite a hit with players. And now, developer DICE is reimagining it for release as DLC for Battlefield 4. Naval Strike, the Battlefield 4 expansion will include a new mode called Carrier Assault, which in the words of DICE is described as a “re-imagining of the classic Battlefield 2142 Titan Mode”. No much is known about this project at the moment, but we can look back at Titan for some clues as to what this upcoming DLC has in store for us. In Titan, players formed teams and their aim was to work together to destroy opposing team’s Titan while defending their own. Titans were airborne wa...
DICE dropped an update on the Battlefield 4 forum this morning indicating that it plans to patch the PC version sometime next week, after the Thanksgiving weekend. According to the patch notes, the update will address some of the key technical issues still present in BF4 a month after launch. The most significant of these is in our mind is the one-hit kill bug, an issue where headshots within eight meters are occasionally dealing more than their predicted 200 percent damage. YouTuber Jackfrags helped get the word out about the issue in an explanation video last week: Pre-patch notes from the Battlefield 4 forums: Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks Fixed the audio bug where audio sometimes randomly dropped out while playing on certain mu...
DICE are really making this one count and are really raising the bar for FPS’. The firearm options have been expanded in Battlefield 4, providing soldiers with a variety of customization options for the weapons. To get a fair idea of how much DICE has done with this aspect and worked to improve the game, the amount of accessories has tripled for each gun plus each firearm has an increased amount of accessory slots now. A single assault rifle has the potential for 240,000 different set-ups in Battlefield 4. There are also many camouflage patterns to choose from, with 16 different sub-options for each pattern. There’s even adaptive camouflage that changes depending on the map you’re playing on. Snipers too have a variety of options to go through. Stuff like expanded scopes and th...
Battlefield 4 will be introducing this new feature which will allow players to try out vehicles like helicopters before getting into the game proper. “We’ve definitely heard that people are afraid of getting in there [and using vehicles like helicopters] and that’s not our intent,” DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson told IGN. “So what we’ve done is, we’ve added a test range, which allows you to try out all the hardware ahead of time so that if you want to learn to fly a helicopter you can get in there and you can find the settings that work best for you.” “And then start doing some stunt flights just to feel safe before you go out and get the responsibility of a bunch of other people sitting in your helicopter,” he added. “So ...
