Battlefield 4 to have vehicle testing range

Battlefield 4 will be introducing this new feature which will allow players to try out vehicles like helicopters before getting into the game proper.

“We’ve definitely heard that people are afraid of getting in there [and using vehicles like helicopters] and that’s not our intent,” DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson told IGN. “So what we’ve done is, we’ve added a test range, which allows you to try out all the hardware ahead of time so that if you want to learn to fly a helicopter you can get in there and you can find the settings that work best for you.”

“And then start doing some stunt flights just to feel safe before you go out and get the responsibility of a bunch of other people sitting in your helicopter,” he added. “So I truly hope that this will help people feel more safe about trying out the whole battlefield.”

Gustavsson also made clear that Battlefield 4 will not support bots and that they haven’t really planned anything for a Dinosaur mode yet. He also mentioned that they are looking into the Battlefield 4 remote play for the PlayStation Vita and are working towards trying to make it a guaranteed feature.

When asked about how the PS Vita game, through remote play, is coming along, Gustavsson said, “It’s getting there. As always, when you’re working on a game you’re still taking one day at a time, but it seems like we’re getting there.”

The game comes out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on the 29th of October.
