Activision Community Manager Dan Amrich announced on his blog earlier that Xbox One and Xbox 360 players will be able to buy villains-themed customization items for Call of Duty: Ghosts’ multiplayer mode on March 4. So Call of Duty fans can expect to see some familiar faces. The Makarov Legend Pack gives you the opportunity to play as the antagonist from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Vladimir Makarov, which will include a Makarov-themed Personalization Pack with a weapon camo, patch, reticle, playcard, and background and will cost as much as the Captain Price Legend Pack which is $4. And for $2 each, you can also play multiplayer as Gabriel Rorke, the villain from Call of Duty: Ghosts, Irman Zakhaev, the villain from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, or some random soldier in a Hazmat suit...
Even though Ghosts and Modern Warfare are set in two separate Call of Duty universes, they’re both developed by Infinity Ward, so there is some common ground which opens the path for a crossover. And the crossover is the Captain Price: Legend Pack, which adds Captain Price, voiced over by actor Billy Murray, as a playable character in Ghosts multiplayer and squads matches. Not just that, but he also comes with his own Personalisation Pack. For $3.99 you get Price, a weapon camo, a player background, a player patch and reticule and not to mention the moustache too. The Legend Pack will come out next Tuesday on Xbox consoles. And it’s worth pointing out that Ghosts micro-items do not transfer between systems. So you can’t buy a personalisation pack on the 360 and carry it o...

Games development legend (and Unreal Tournament designer) Cliff Bleszinski has dropped a few hints that he might be looking to start development on a new fast-paced arena first-person shooter. The fascinating interview, which is well worth a listen, can be listened to on the Pointless podcast. After taking a break from the industry for the past year, Bleszinski confirmed that he has “a slide deck” for a new project. “I have a pitch. I have concept art. I know pretty much what I want to do,” he said. “It will be a PC experience that will hearken back to a certain type of game that we cut our teeth on.” The project in Bleszinski’s head is also a first-person shooter. “It’s in my DNA,” he said. “A lot of these kids playing Call...
Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available from tomorrow on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PS4 (strangely, considering the console itself doesn’t come out until the end of the month) and PC. It will also hit Xbox One on 19 November and its release marks the tenth anniversary of the hugely successful franchise. The original Call of Duty was released on 29 October 2003 and was developed by Infinity Ward, the same studio behind the latest in the series. It was set in World War II, as were more immediate sequels, and initially came out for the PC – a Mac version followed and Xbox Live and PSN both offered HD versions for download in 2009. To celebrate the anniversary and the release of Ghosts, we present some tasty nuggets read on to know more Call of Duty developers hate cars Activision rele...
Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin yesterday cleared a rumor about the comparative resolutions for Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. He did so on Twitter, by confirming the game is native 720p on Xbox One (upscaled to 1080p), while the PS4 version is native 1080p. “Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4,” said Mark. “We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both,” he added. “Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week’s launch.” Microsoft director of product planning Albert Penello sai...
Outnumbered and outgunned, but not outmatched. Call of Duty®: Ghosts takes players to a world altered by a devastating mass event. Following an elite squad of soldiers known as the “Ghosts,” lead the fight back against a newly emerged global power. Call of Duty®: Ghosts arrives 11.5.13.
Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature a new type of hybrid AI-and-human multiplayer experience called Squads. To start off, a player is made to form their own Squad, a group of soldiers with varying perks and load-outs designed to support a certain play style. This squad then builds its way up and progresses as the player unlocks XP throughout the various Squad-centric multiplayer modes. All of the XP earned in each of these Squad modes can then carry over to the multiplayer experience proper. Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on November 5. PS4 and Xbox One installments will be available during those respective console launches. Source: joystiq
