Insane Call of Duty Stats

So I have here with me some really mind boggling figures that have emerged due to the Call of Duty franchise. Figures like since 2010 the franchise has had more than 125 million players. And within a week of Advanced Warfare being launched, about 5 million hours of gameplay was watched. I could go on but that’s the job of the info-graphic, plus it you get a much better idea through the picture below. There you go, something for you to chew on.

Activision and Twitch announced today that Advanced Warfare is the most streamed console game (not PC) of 2014 for its launch week worldwide. It wasn’t mentioned which title Advanced Warfare overtook to get to the top. Come down to figures, Activision says last week alone, more than 75,000 unique Twitch users shared Advanced Warfare gameplay. Advanced Warfare streams were viewed over 26 million times, and drew nearly 6 million unique viewers last week. In all, Twitch users spent over 327 million minutes watching Advanced Warfare streams during the week.   “The team...

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Co-Op Mode Trailer

Sledgehammer Games today revealed a trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s co-op mode, which we all knew was there but knew nothing about. Well, now we do!   The game’s co-op mode is called Exo Survival and can hold up to four players. You’ll team up with your mates to fend off waves of enemies which also include mechs. It is probably safe to assume that the waves will become harder to counter as the level progresses. The game’s co-op mode features along with Advanced Warfare’s single-player and multiplayer mode. Advanced Warfare launches November 4 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.

COD: Advanced Warfare Not Coming To Wii U

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is scheduled to come out to five platforms sometime later in the year but Wii U isn’t one of them. The prospect of a Wii U version of Advanced Warfare had yet to be officially addressed until today, when co-founder of developer Sledgehammer Games, Michael Condrey responded to a question on Twitter. “No, no Wii U. That was an Activision decision,” he wrote. “We are focused on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.” Sledgehammer is the lead developer on those three versions of the game, while High Moon Studios is working on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Wii U wasn’t a platform that Call of Duty was strongly associated with, however both of the series’ games released since 2012–Black Ops II and Ghosts–were released on Wii U...

Storytelling techniques revealed in the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Trailer

Activision and Sledgehammer Games have put together this new trailer that shows us what exactly goes into not only making a game but how they go about portraying it through a story in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. According to creative director Bret Robbins, they are striving hard to achieve a certain level of realism in the story about future war. This process has been underway for about 3 years now and Sledgehammer has tried its best to make the most interesting and believable story possible. The studio got military veterans from several branches of the special forces involved in their production  to share their experiences and help shape the narrative. Robbins believes that these vets “bring a level of authenticity to the story.” Sledgehammer also has a special team workin...

Call of Duty 2014′s first look revealed by Sledgehammer Games

Developer Sledgehammer Games teased a first look at this year’s Call of Duty at last month’s Game Developers Conference, offering a split-second peek at the 2014 entry in Activision’s popular shooter franchise. Thanks to the GDC Vault, which hosts video recordings of the conference’s talks, those not in attendance at Sledgehammer’s panel can get a taste of what this year’s Call of Duty game will look like. “We can’t talk at all about Call of Duty for this year,” Sledgehammer’s Michael Condrey said at the start of the talk he delivered with fellow studio co-founder Glen Schofield. The image of two characters from this year’s Call of Duty title appear to be graphically inline with realistic facial modeling shown by Activision ...

Infinity Ward possibly bringing back Soap MacTavish DLC for COD: Ghosts

Infinity Ward tweeted a few days ago and are hinting at the possibilities that  John “Soap” MacTavish, protagonist of the Modern Warfare games, may be returning to the series. We’re not really sure what form he’s gonna take in the DLC. The above image was the one Infinity Ward used in the tweet which shows Soap doing his regular thing- being a total badass. The “Continue YES NO” caption riffs on his ultimate fate in Modern Warfare 3. All of this is more or less rumors at this point but its only sensible to assume that Soap will appear in a multiplayer Legends Pack, as Captain Price and Vladimir Makarov have previously. In past iterations these packs provide a soldier skin, reticules, weapon camo, and other customisation options. Stay tuned as we bring you the latest news on thi...

The publisher announced yesterday that it will host a free Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer demo on Xbox Live this weekend for Xbox One and PC. The promotions will start from the 7th till the 10th of March, and will mark the first time Activision has offered a multiplayer demo for a Call of Duty game.  During this time period, you will be able to try out 3 multiplayer maps (Strikezone, Warhawk, and Prison Break), as well as three multiplayer modes: Search & Rescue, Domination, and Team Deathmatch.
