Last year’s remaster of Call of Duty 4 Remaster was remarkable, despite it being packaged along with Infinite Warfare – which was not all that well received by fans, even after being a fairly good game – and also being subjected to some really greedy DLC practices.

But the remaster itself was very well done, and a ton of fun to play. And now people are asking for Modern Warfare 2 remaster. Activision, money-minded as they are, have every reason to make that happen and even bundle it along with the upcoming Call of Duty: World War 2. But if that had been the case, we would have surely heard about it at E3. While there’s still time before release, Activision will want as much hype as possible to be built for it and an announcement coming in anytime now seems unlikely.
Maybe they also don’t want to sour any feelings towards Call of Duty: World War 2 by making gamers feel like they are being to forced to buy it in order to get the Modern Warfare 2 remaster (if they had announced it as such). I would expect them to announce a remaster that can be bought separately a few months after World War 2 releases. This way they both satisfy the gamers who want a more modern shooter experience and those who want the old-school COD experience. they also get time to gauge how much interest COD: World War 2 can generate, and how many people it can retain. The Modern Warfare 2 remaster can come in also to boost their numbers when it’s time for investor meetings.
Recent rumors have been speculating that the Modern Warfare 2 remaster is already being made along with Modern Warfare 3. Activision is planning to bring out the entire trilogy eventually as a remaster, we’ll just have to wait and see when.
Either ways, whenever the game releases, we’ll be waiting to play it. Modern Warfare 2 was a great experience, both the campaign and the multiplayer.
