Nvidia recently launched a brilliant text adventure game to promote a mysterious forthcoming product, but a leak may have ruined the surprise. A series of slides resembling a typical Nvidia press deck has leaked (intercepted via VideoCardz.com), revealing two new members of the Shield family: A tablet and a wireless controller.
Many were expecting a successor to the original Shield, Nvidia’s multipurpose handheld console which boasted a built-in controller and a penchant for latency-free PC game streaming. I reviewed it and continue to evangelize it, even if it does target a somewhat niche audience due to its form factor.
In January NVIDIA announced its new mobile processor called Tegra K1. It is the first SoC to include a full cluster of 192 CUDA cores bringing incredible graphics performance to mobile market. We had to wait 5 months to see first tablets to use this processor. Those who were not patient enough, probably decided to buy Xiaomi MiPad. DigitalStorm recently posted a review of this particular tablet, which should give you an idea of how powerful Tegra K1 is. Personally we don’t know when it is scheduled for a launch in India but we cannot wait to grab one for myself, this might be the best entertaining system ever made.
Lets check it out 🙂
