Kojima Had Nothing To Do With Metal Gear: Survive

Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear franchise denied any involvement in the making of the upcoming title in the series, Metal Gear: Survive during the Tokyo Game Show.

When asked about the game and his part in it, he claimed that he knew nothing about it. He went on to say that Metal Gear is more about political friction and espionage, and it has nothing to with zombies. Koji Shinkawa, the Character Designer for Kojima Productions’ first title, Death Stranding also weighed in, saying that Kojima hadn’t mentioned or talked about Survive even once, and for him Metal Gear is all about the two-legged walking mecha.

Kojima also revealed a few details about his upcoming project, with a tentative release date prior to the Tokyo Olympics (to be held in 2020). He went on to tease that a playable female lead could join Norman Reedus’ side in Death Stranding, and the title would introduce a completely new type of co-op gameplay, something which hasn’t been seen before.

Death Stranding was announced at the E3 2016 conference as a PlayStation 4 title, though it is possible that the title may also be released on the PC.
