First Ever Third Party Gaming Controller For New Apple TV Announced

Apple has come up with the next big thing, Earlier today after “Hey Siri” event of Apple, SteelSeries announced the brand new Nimbus gamepad controller which is specifically made for Apple TV. Nimbus is the first ever gaming controller made for Apple TV and the specification of it looks quite promising and dazing, however the appearance of Nimbus is much closer to the Xbox One controller.

Ehtisam Rabbani, CEO of SteelSeries said,”SteelSeries is at the center of the biggest evolution in gaming. nimbus represents a new standard in wireless gaming controllers and we’re pleased to be bringing this controller to this incredible platform.

Nimbus wireless gamepad provides 40 hours of gameplay on a single charge and can be recharged via a lightning cable. It has two thumbsticks, a D-pad, four shoulder buttons and four face buttons. A menu button which could help for a quick navigation and also acts as a mirror control for Menu button in Apple’s TV remote, the controller’s buttons are pressure sensitive for “precise control”.

Earlier today at Hey Siri’s Event Apple also announced few of the future games which can be played via the new Siri Remote which features accelerometer and gyroscope. Since Apple TV comes with a touch and motion enabled controller, Harmonix announced a new game for Apple TV called Beat Sports and Guitar Hero Live, Skylanders, Superchargers and Geometry Wars 3 have announced by Activision. There is also a dedicated App Store for third-party downloads which will include games compatible with SteelSeries Nimbus controller.

The new Apple TV costs $149, packed with 32GB of storage and can be doubled to 64GB of storage for $199. SteelSeries Nimbus controller is priced at $49.95 and will be available in late October. Check out Games and More section of Apple’s website for more on upcoming games.
